"Great chill spot for a Tues. nite watch party/ voter registration organizing meeting! Chips and salsa were good, and queso had great flavor. Vibe was so comfortable several of us stuck around for the comedy open mic, which I'm really glad I did. Feels great to be a part of a community & scene where free public performance is encouraged, welcomed, and nurtured in a both safe and high production quality environment. & E'erbody gotta start somewhere! (& The entire stage space at Double Trouble is quite gorgeous. Massive PROPS to your designers & decorators, y'all!) I was impressed by the comics' courageous authenticity in taking on sensitive personal subjects without going for cheap/ debasing reactions (mostly lol), and their tenacity in completing their sets despite sometimes lukewarm/ if not indiscernible feedback. The moderators were great at setting a warm tone at the outset, & keeping the action flowing and vibes high-- even when content became occasionally quite dark. Please make time to periodically get out there & support your local creatives in all domains, y'all! To my mind, the creative arts help us all by unblocking stagnant energy and creating "flow," in & among individuals, groups, and spaces-- literally making us all healthier, and planet Earth a better place, period.
