What People Are Saying
from Google"Merit coffee is probably the best coffee I’ve ever had. This is coming from someone who was a barista for over 4 years and tries a new coffee shop each time I travel as a flight attendant. I ordered the shaken maple pecan and I wanted to come back and order another when I finished it. The barista was very nice and I waited less than 5 minutes for my order. The atmosphere is very chill and laid back, there were a lot of people reading or doing work on their computers. I can’t wait to come back to Austin so I can come here again!"
"Merit always seems busy, which is good if you’re a coffee shop. Busy means fresh coffee and it also showcases that you’ve got a good product. I was initially impressed with their good service and the staff. Gabe introduced himself to me and had a cool personality. I got the latte and my wife got the cappuccino. She thought her cappuccino was a little sour in comparison to many Austin area coffees. My latte was good and seemed to have consistent flavor all the way through. The atmosphere was busy, people lined up both inside and outside, so getting a seat took a little effort, but really I enjoyed the process and the coffee was quite pleasant. "Really nice and aesthetic coffee spot. Really busy though so it’s hard to grab a seat unless you’re fine sitting outside. Baristas are friendly but a bit slow. Was waiting for my drink while they were chatting in the back sipping on their own drinks. Coffee overall was pretty mediocre. Nothing too special especially for the price."
"The coffee is great and amazing and I do like to leave positive reviews but tipping and then waiting 20 minutes for the baristas to take their sweet time. I spent my whole lunch period waiting for my coffee to get made. I got there with 3 people ahead of me, nothing complicated. The was 4-5 people working. There was a couple that paid and left after me because these baristas were taking forever with a matcha and latte. I'm pretty sure there's hard working baristas there but the ones that were there took way too long. I probably won't be coming back for a while or if I see these people working there."
"I use to live in San Antonio and tried Merit coffee a few tines. The latte’s always came out sour to me. Now living in Austin, I was out and about, and passed by this location. I was hesitant but pulled in and got a hot chocolate to play it safe… it was one of the best hot chocolate’s I’ve had! I’m definitely coming back and giving their lattes a second chance!"
