What People Are Saying
from Google"Russell’s bakery and coffee had pretty good reviews and we checked it out. The place is kind of cute and I really like the back area with all the paintings. This was the nicest area in the shop. The place is nice and clean, but I’m not sure I would say it’s cozy. They have a good selection of coffees as well as pastries, breads, and breakfast sandwiches. The staff was OK, but not overly friendly, although the younger girl who was taking our order was very nice. This bummed us out as we’re big on good customer service. The Coffees were pretty good. We ordered the Matcha latte and the caramel apple latte and thought they were pretty good. The coffee doesn’t come as hot as most places. It’s more of a kid hot temperature, so if you looking for a hot coffee just a heads up. Overall, this place is pretty good, but not a top coffee destination in Austin. They do have a nice selection of drinks though, and they do have indoor and outdoor seating which is a positive."
"Located in a business park, but once you are inside you get that neighborhood coffee shop, third place feeling. Looking out over the parking lot there is a spectacular view of a lush mountainside with a luxury apartment complex that looks like a castle perched on top. Kind of cool This is an affluent area I ordered a decaf latte with only one shot of espresso and one pump of chocolate syrup. It was perfectly sweetened and flavored. But the BIG DEAL for me was the GF BANANA NUT MUFFIN. It was super moist and delicious. We will be back."
"We're at Russell's right now. Currently drinking a vanilla latte that first came iced, when I ordered it hot. Most places will offer the iced drink free because it's wasteful to throw it away, but they just grabbed it and stuck it by their sink. The "hot" latte is definitely not "hot." It's "warm" at best, and barely so. After sitting for a good long while, after my companion had already finished the two breakfast tacos he had ordered, I walked over to the counter to ask if my breakfast sandwich was coming soon. The woman went in the back to check on it, and came back out to tell me it was coming soon. After a few more minutes I noticed a paper bag on the order counter and walked over to see if it was mine. I didn't hear anyone call out the order, and they definitely couldn't be bothered to bring it to me (after clearly forgetting about it, let's be honest), and the woman who had checked on it initially was talking to someone at the register, so I just grabbed it. Whatever. It seemed to be mine. I tipped 20% on a $29(!) order. I know a lot of people have an issue with tipping at coffee houses at all, so you'd think a decent, restaurant level tip would buy a somewhat restaurant level style of service. I don't know. This place is pretty mid. Food is ok. Drinks are not hot enough. They seem to have a problem getting orders correct. Service is... serviceable. They really need more power outlets too. We had to squeeze all our food, laptops, etc on a tiny table by the window because there are almost no outlets in any of the seating areas, not even along the bar. We came here because it was the only close coffee place to the neighborhood we were in, and I think this place banks on the fact that there isn't much competition around. It's really just ok."
"This establishment offers a pleasant environment suitable for relaxation, socializing, or conducting small meetings, all while enjoying coffee. The coffee shop is well-maintained, inviting, and staffed by personable individuals."
"Coffee shark was definitely a better bakery. Coffee is fine. Lots of sunlight which is good. Not a whole lot of outlets for the tables that are not right by the wall. I don't think they sweep the floor much."
