What People Are Saying
from Google"Small quaint old town diner and Cafe for breakfast and lunch. Was craving a breakfast burrito. 1836 hit the spot. Owner is a pleasure! Food was delicious to say the least. Fresh, homemade and well put together! Happy to have found this little gem of a spot. Will surely make the 20 minute drive to have this food in my belly more often. You can tell they do well by the continuous flow of curbside to go orders being picked up! Alot of homemade treats also! Will have to give them a try. In my opinion, a MUST TRY BREAKFAST/ LUNCH establishment!"
"Cool little diner with great food and service. Seating area indoors is small but there isn’t much of a wait ever, picnic tables on the patio for outdoor seating. They have breakfast and lunch selections, the chicken fried steak is amazing and the homemade biscuits and gravy is oh so satisfying! Homemade cinnamon rolls and pies are a bonus."
"What a little hidden Gem in 🔔 Bells....so glad for an outing to Bonham then to Bells. If you're in the area of Hwy 56 & N. Pecan, it's a must stop for breakfast or brunch, lunch. They have these outrageous looking cinnamon rolls & they make the best jalapeno biscuits, which are so yummy, and if you like crunchy bacon, it's the best. I'll be going back soon to try their lunch. I will be updating my review of some additional pictures. I did purchase one of their really cool coffee mugs! They even put identifying 1836 stickers on your to-go boxes and bags."
"This little cafe offers some delicious food! We have only ever stopped for breakfast but if breakfast is an indication, I’m sure all their other offerings are just as tasty. The biscuits are flaky and buttery and perfect! The sweet rolls are divine! We had a peanut butter cookie today that was super rich but delicious! Friendly staff and delicious food well worth the trip to Bells"
"My husband ordered eggs, bacon, fried potatoes, with biscuits and gravey. Potatoes where over cooked. Gravey was luck warm and bacon was not good. I had pancakes and sausage. When I lifted my pancakes to butter them. There where lots of blacks flakes on my plate. Telling me that the grill was not cleaned. And the black stuff was on my sausage patties as well. And! We had to pay one dollor for each one of our glass of water with ice. To go along with the coffee that we had ordered. I have never had to pay for a glass of ice water at any restaurant ever! Will never go back there. It is a sad thing too. Because we ate there once before and really liked it."
