from Google & Yelp"I visited Quarter Acre on Friday night. The decor is tasteful and restrained. They need to work on music - it was all over the place. I had a 7 course tasting menu with wine pairing. The service was excellent both by the waiting staff and the sommelier. Wine choices were good, especially Pinot Gris and chardonnays. Overall experience was pleasant but there were a few tweaks I felt were warranted in the dishes to be truly future Michelin star ready. The puff pastry amuse bouche was a bit too big for one bite and with a cream filling made for an awkward bite. Tuna tartare needed a crunchy element to improve texture, it was too soft on soft with tuna and pomelo. The fois gras was good, but serving it with deep fried brioche was probably not a good idea, in my opinion - it was too much of heavy on heavy. I actually enjoyed it more with the toasted bread that was served earlier. The eggplant dish was overpowered by mint leaves and huge rice crackers. The grouper was a tad over for my taste but the smoky black sauce was truly amazing in combination with veloute. The venison dish was perfect in every way. I think Quarter Acre is a great addition to the Dallas culinary scene. I’m looking forward to coming back soon for another try of the tasting menu."
"I had a fantastic experience at Quarter Acre. I did the tasting menu with wine pairing. Both offer great value and variety, incorporating 7 dishes from the a la carte menu (plus bread & butter and some small cookies at the end) + a diversity of wines from New Zealand and Australia that complement the courses well. Each course provided thoughtful & creative temperatures, textures, flavor balances, ingredients, and influences from the Chef's upbringing in NZ + global travels. Standouts to me include the beef tartare and the 'Similar to a PAVLOVA' dessert, although all courses were exceptional. Service was friendly and attentive. Courses were explained with detail, as were the wines. Pacing was appropriate, silverware replaced rapidly. The restaurant is smaller and intimate, with enough space in-between tables to be comfortable but not cramped, unlike some restaurants in the city where everything is so close and cramped that it feels like it's one big shared group table. This restaurant had been on my radar for a while having travelled to Australia + several parts of New Zealand + having an interest in the ever-developing culinary scene in Dallas, especially with the Michelin guide finally making it to TX. I would highly recommend, and in particular the tasting menu as I think it provides the best value (I did the rough math compared to ordering each dish a la carte and I think it works in your favor) and diversity and it's the recommended approach from the chef. A very small detail / suggestion would be to serve Three Bays water (still/sparkling) instead of Acqua Panna to further solidify the NZ / AU theme / influences (in particular as it relates to the wine / drink menu). It is considered one of the best waters in the world, having consistently won the highest accolades from 'the fine water society', and can be obtained at Central Market these days (or from Salacious Drinks online)."
"Thank you Quarter Acre for an elevated Christmas Eve experience! The food and drinks were delicious and the details thought-provoking. Oysters with passion fruit foam, kingfish ceviche with coconut, and beautifully prepared venison were standouts for me. We appreciated the cohesive food and wine menus that celebrate New Zealand."
"Easily one of the best dining experiences you can get in Dallas. Located in the busy and lively Lower Greenville, Quarter Acre brings class and exceptional dining. The lamb is truly one of the best dishes you can get, and the dishes from start to finish hit the mark. Compliments to Chef and the excellent team."
"We came for my husbands birthday dinner and every detail of Quarter Acre was stunning and so well executed. Sitting there it was evident the love, care, and attention to detail that has been poured in to this chef owned restaurant. The service was simply incredible and each staff member was so attentive and weaved comments about celebrating my husbands birthday throughout the night, so felt very special and sweet. So glad we came and left having enjoyed an incredible experience, delicious food, and passion inspired cuisine."
"If you're looking for a spot that actually stands out, this is it. The service and the location alone could earn five stars, but it's the soul of this place..."
