"Ordered 4 2lb bags of Costa Rica coffee from them, which is my all time favorite. Shipping was late due to holiday, but it was OK. Once I received the order (2 boxes of 2 bags in each) and opened one bag to brew a cup right away. It did not have characteristic aroma and texture of Costa Rica and couldn't even finish the cup. It tasted like cigarette like an old/rancid coffee. I contacted Aldecoa coffee, asking for refund/return. All they said was 'coffee is perishable item, and cannot return/refund'. No return makes sense on opened bags, not on unopened +just received bags. No refund sounds like they don't like to stand back for their quality. I ordered on trust, a lot for free shipping but I got burned. I do not recommend their Costa Rican coffee at all, and this seller as a business place since their customer service needs a lot of improvement. Wanted to support small local coffee place rather than buying it from big name seller like S*ar Bucks, but this demonstrates why some business remains small."

"My body has a negative reaction to the acid in coffees. I couldn’t find one I could tolerate. It came down to drinking half calf or decaf. So I asked ChatGPT to recommend a low acid coffee. It suggested Aldecoa Sumatra. BINGO! I’m cured. Added bonus, this morning I find out it’s located in Houston, Tx where I live."

"Every time I try and use an expression pid from this maker, the pod bursts almost immediately. The pods are constructed from cheap materials that can not be withhoold hot water pressure from the machine. Starbucks, Peetes, etc. make their pids from better constructed materials. I fell for it again and purchased their on-sale buy 2 get one free special, and here I go again. Every pid has busted pouring grounds in the cup and liquid all over the counter. I threw away almost two boxes from that purchase. I am not asking for a resolution because I do not want any of their expresso pods again unless they change the materials used and they do not burst. 1 star rating for these pids, and what a shame because it is good coffee."
