from Google"For parking, valet is available but my friends and I did street parking on White St where there was plenty of space available. My friends and I had a reservation for Friday night and we were originally expecting to be seated in the main area but since Juelp was having a soft launch of their speakeasy bar, we were seated there instead. The interior is intimate and moderately lit unlike some speakeasies where the lighting can be very dim. The menu is quite extensive with a variety of different drinks available. For the speakeasy, there was a list of new drinks available at a discounted rate of $10 due to the soft launch. That being said, I ended up ordering the Golden Halo since that was the recommended drink for people who enjoy very sweet drinks such as myself- and it did not disappoint! My other friends ordered the Sakura Current and the Silk & Oak which they all enjoyed. As for food, my friends and I ordered truffle fries, baked brie, confit flatbread, and oysters. Personally, I thought the fries were a little too skinny/small but the truffle seasoning was good! The baked brie and confit flat bread were delicious and the oysters were refreshing. Overall, this was such a cute spot and I’m glad to have been able to try it out. On top of the good drinks and bites, our server was very knowledgeable and welcoming. Looking forward to coming back!"
"I was walking down Washington Avenue after leaving an event on this past Thursday evening. I do not usually stop at restaurants or bars in this area, but from a distance I noticed the Julep sign and felt pulled toward it. As I got closer, I could feel the energy before I even stepped inside. I could hear laughter, excitement, and joy coming from the space. From the outside, Julep looked like a winter wonderland. Christmas lights filled the room, wrapped gifts were hanging from the ceiling, nutcrackers stood proudly throughout the space, and elves were everywhere. The entire place was alive with holiday spirit, and it genuinely called me in. I will admit I was a little nervous walking in since I had never been there before and I was alone. But the moment I entered, I was greeted with smiles and warmth. The greeters looked like festive elves themselves, joyful, welcoming, and full of life. They guided me to the bar and made me feel comfortable right away. That is where I met Carlos. I opened a tab with a glass of wine and slowly settled in, watching him work. As I observed him making drinks for others, it became clear that he is a true artist. His attention to detail, his precision, and the way he carried himself behind the bar was unlike anything I have seen. He ran that bar with confidence, care, and mastery. You could tell he is practiced and deeply respects his craft. Watching him work inspired me to order a drink from him. I told Carlos I do not drink much, but his artistry made me want to experience one of his creations. When he asked what I wanted, I simply said I like it sweet and I want it to hit the spot. I told him to have fun with it. He smiled and with a smooth nod of the head, he stated… “I got you” What he made for me was the perfect drink to cap my night. Balanced, smooth, thoughtful, and absolutely on point. Carlos is hands down one of the best bartenders in Houston. He fits Julep perfectly, and his presence elevates the entire space. If you are on Washington Avenue, visiting Houston, or looking for a place to bring coworkers or friends for a fun and festive night, Julep is the spot. And when you go, make sure you show love to the bartenders. They are magnificent here and truly make the experience what it is."
"Great service! Nice upscale bar with food options. GET the kettle popcorn! It was so good and the portion is great too. It was my first time there and the server was able to recommend a good drink for me based on what I wanted. Seating for large groups available as well as bar seating and small groups."
"Julep is one of my favorite upscale bars in Houston with an extensive selection of craft cocktails. My favorite time to frequent is around the holidays when they decorate the space & have limited edition holiday drinks. Great for a date night or to catch up with a friend. The interior is definitely on the smaller side, so I don’t suggest going if you’re with a group that has 4+ people unless you make reservations. Parking is valet only."
"Went in for the Christmas pop up. I have to admit,in the "Over the Top" competition, they are definitely contenders. The ceiling was heavily layered with gifts, globes, and glowing lights. The drinks were good too.."
