What People Are Saying
from Google & Yelp"Small town diner, friendly people, a place where the locals are known and it’s fun to watch the interactions as an “outsider”. The food was great, we had breakfast and ran the gamut on trying multiple things. We were not disappointed. Prices were good too. It’s downtown, cool older building and worth a try."
"I love the small town vibe and a unique experience. 25¢ coffee and a free scoop of Blue Bell are great incentives. But the speed of service and GREAT HOT food freshly prepared made my morning. I saw the pancake in another review but seeing it in person is a whole different story. Trust me, you won't need more than one. I had to share half! The big breakfast is just that... BIG. I enjoyed it all and literally have no complaints on the food or the service. Started digging in before the picture, so forgive the presentation. Everyone is attentive! Am I going back? You better believe it! Parking is on street right in front of the square or nearby across the street on a weekend. Info from staff: Open till 2, breakfast served until noon. Closed Sundays to give staff a true rest. Fridays open until 8 to accommodate AYCE fish/shrimp that starts around 430."
"I hate that I didn't take photos of our food before we started into it! But if you're looking for a quaint, hometown diner with some of the tastiest, freshly made and home-cooked food, this place is a must. It is a step back in time as you step through the front door. The old diner stools reminded me so much of my grandfather's hamburger diner from my childhood. I consider myself a pimento cheese connoisseur, and let me just say this was a very close call to my mother's pimento cheese! And that is hard to beat. The onion rings were also incredible dipped in the freshly made ranch dressing. We will come out of our way on our way to Dallas to stop here again for a meal. As long as the calories don't count. The wait staff is also super friendly!"
"We’ve driven through this area several times but never stopped. I’m glad we decided to stop today. The food was fantastic. The staff was very friendly and fast. The atmosphere was everything you’d want it to be in a small town cafe. I’m not a big restaurant coffee person but you can’t beat their famous 25 cent cup of coffee. The red eye burger was delicious. Maybe the best chicken fried steak I’ve had in a long time. I can’t think of any better. The Russell was really tasty as well with the homemade chips that were the right amount crisp and flavor. But the item we couldn’t stop talking about was their ranch dressing. It is probably the best I’ve had. If you’re in the area, don’t pass this place by. I think we will make the hour drive again to try their Friday night special."
"Delicious and they serve big portions. The thick bacon was full-sized and fully cooked. Eggs were perfect on both meals. The pancakes covered the entire plate and had an additional flavor we could not figure out... lemon-ish(?) The biscuits were fabulous. The town is known for their mushrooms, and I had plenty in my 2 egg omelet!! YUM"
"Thank you for being inclusive. And for vegan treats!! Cool effect with the video interview with the former jail employee. Great job connecting the history..."
