Today I was greeted with a familiar friendly face. And served up with chips/salsa and a sample of tortilla soup. My all time favorite."

"I’ve been going to Regio Cafe for years and it’s still my favorite hidden gem. The food just tastes like home to me (RGV). Homemade tortillas, huevo con jamón, or bacon or rancheros - I love how easy and straightforward the menu is. Which makes me feel like it’s my grandma’s home cooking growing up on weekend mornings. And it’s very affordable. The service is always friendly and makes me feel right at home. Food - I love the breakfast tacos combinations like “the cowboy” (a step up from your childhood weenies con huevo taco). My favorite dishes are always the chilaquiles verdes plate or the chilaquiles breakfast taco. They both taste different but equally amazing! It’s hard to find a good chilaquiles bf taco at Mexican restaurants sometimes but Regio Cafe’s is by far my fave!"

The tacos are always good with the chilaquiles being my go to taco. And the best part, the homemade tortillas. Just like mom used to make."
