"They come close, but no cigar. I got a south Philly-style cheesesteak with fries to benchmark how well it holds up to my Philly standards. Overall, it's good, but still falls short. The fries were fantastic! They were very crispy and crunchy on the outside, and soft on the inside. With some salt and pepper, they were nearly perfect. They did do a few things right with the cheesesteak. The ribeye was fresh, thinly sliced, and cooked to perfection! It was also very juicy and tender. The onions filled the room with their aroma while they were cooking, and were cooked perfectly. However, you don't just put a Daisy do do do do-la dollop of whiz right on top! It has to be thoroughly incorporated with the meat, and ideally, a little bit of it should be spread into the bread. Speaking of the bread, it is VERY hard get a cheesesteak with a good hoagie roll outside of the tri-state area. The bread at Murphy's is no exception to this. It could have been a little more crisp on the outside, but it was sufficiently soft and good for the mountain west. Lastly, the steak could have used some seasoned salt, or have more flavor incorporated into it because it was a bit underwhelming in flavor. My fingers didn't smell much like cheesesteak when I left. Murphy's has a strong base for a cheesesteak. It's almost there, but it needs a few tweaks to earn a 5 star rating from me. And with a large cheesesteak and fries costing me over $25 (yes, over $25!) I wouldn't come back to fulfill a cheesesteak craving."

"We have ate here a few times now, the staff are nice, the manager is really sweet. The food is hot & fresh! My only negative feedback is that I wish they did grilled & fresh sweet yellow onions! They have so much flavor, if there just were grilled & fresh sweet yellow onions paired together, it would be the cherry on top!"

"Great food and great people. The owner is great and they have friendly employees. Not 100% perfect Phillies but that is expected. It is as close as you can get unless you fly one out from Philly on the same day. Then you'll have a cold sandwich. LOL Altitude, water used, everything alters the taste. But the ingredients are identical. They have huge selection of great food. Definitely recommend."
