The room feels more like someone’s well-loved dining room than a restaurant… an old house where the line between kitchen and table disappears. It’s intimate without being precious, elevated without being stiff, and paired with service that’s genuinely human. Ask for Kat. The food is the real deal. Thoughtful, seasonal, and cooked by people who actually care what’s coming out of the kitchen. I’ve stopped looking at the menu ahead of time because whatever’s online is usually wrong anyway… and honestly, that’s part of the charm. This is a place meant to be eaten family-style. You come with a friend or two, order generously, pass plates, and trust the kitchen… or come alone and happily feast. You don’t come to Arlo with a plan. You show up, eat what’s in season, and let them take care of you. They always do. The vegetable tart is the one constant. I order it every time. And yet I’m just as happy eating literally anything else they put in front of me, because this is a place knows when to let great ingredients speak. The food is always on point leaving you wanting more, even when you’re completely stuffed. Arlo absolutely deserves the eyes of Michelin inspectors. I’ll restrain myself and let the experts decide if recognition is warranted… a statement I say with love, and also mild dread, because if that happens I’ll never get a table again. I wish this restaurant and their team nothing but success."
"We just moved to the neighborhood and were excited to try Arlo. It exceeded our expectations and is exactly the kind of place we were hoping to find within walking distance of our house. The space is beautiful and the food is honestly incredible. We’re from Vegas, and I have a background in food and beverage, so I don’t say that lightly. Sitting at the chef’s counter made the night even better. I love watching the rhythm of a kitchen, and it was such a fun way to experience the meal. We started with the bread and butter, which set the tone immediately. From there, everything just kept getting better. The short rib ravioli was a standout, and the apple pie alone is reason enough to come back. We also had the striped bass, the vegetable tart, and their fun take on fish and chips, and every dish was a hit. Unfortunately, I don’t remember our server’s name, but she was wonderful. She was so kind, attentive, and truly made us feel taken care of throughout the evening. The food feels Michelin-inspired, but the vibe is still cozy in that perfect neighborhood way, refined but still comfortable. We left already talking about when we’d return. This will absolutely become a regular spot for us, and we can’t wait to come back and try brunch."
"Every single bite was perfect. If I’m ever wanting to eat as much as I possibly can in one sitting i'm going to Arlo. The flavors are unlike any restaurant. I love how each dish makes me try a new or unexpected flavor but not in a way that overpowers the dish. It makes me appreciate the food so much more and want to order everything off the menu. We sat in the covered and heated patio which was so cozy and welcoming. Absolutely dine here any chance you get.It will be worth it."

"You can tell Arlo is a labor of love for Chef Milo Carrier, who amongst other things was a sous chef at San Francisco’s Boulevard restaurant, back in the days when it had the Michelin plaque on its wall. Arlo’s decor is minimalist and positively spartan, presumably as Carrier wants you to focus more of your attention on the food, rather than the surroundings. Luckily, that’s a bet that pays off as the food was excellent. We were there for New Years Eve with a special four course menu, of which the highlights were a simple, almost delicate tasting goats cheese and caramelized onion tart, and a more bombastic duck with a cranberry and Chianti glaze, and poached pear. Service was earnest, though not without a few small hiccups - an example being that the bread was brought out without butter, and not corrected until we gently pointed it out. Overall though the staff worked hard and were pleasant. Definitely worth a stop if you’re in Salt Lake City."
