What People Are Saying
from Google & Yelp"This was my first time visiting Cupla Coffee last Saturday night, and I was surprised by how spacious it feels for a café right in the middle of downtown. There are plenty of seats, though most of the tables are fairly close together, so it can feel a little exposed and cramped depending on where you sit. Personally I am not a fan of the interconnected long walled booth-seating. I got lucky and found a cozy separated corner with my back against the wall, right by their high bookshelves - easily the prettiest spot in the café. Christmas decor is up now, as expected. The atmosphere leans industrial: black exposed ceilings, gray-toned walls, and warm lighting. They attract a mix of people: downtown workers, hotel guests from the Hyatt, and casual passersby, so the flow is constant. I like that they are not blasting music, just enough for a good vibe. One thing to note: there aren’t many outlets. I only noticed one in another corner, so it’s not the best place for long work sessions if you need to plug in. I got a strawberry lemonade and a donut, which was good. The other reviews mention they have good coffee but I have not tried. Overall, a nice spot to relax for a bit, enjoy a drink, and watch the city move. I might return, if I can grab that same corner seat again and figure out a better parking option."
"I needed a coffee shop to work out of while I waited for my red eye and used to live in Salt Lake when Cupla was in a basement! Loved seeing how they’ve expanded. Very clean, amazing playlist, friendly staff (who was on top of cleaning). Lots of other people working from their laptops which I love being around. I love local shops and highly recommend their London Fog and macaroons! Totally worth stopping by."
"Excellent coffee, apparently roasted onsite and it shows as the Cortado I had this morning was well balanced with an earthy smooth flavor with a hint of fruit, but not an overbearing tang like some acidic coffee beans produce. This place is a winner for straight coffee and Americanos as well, coffee is smooth and freshly roast3d and ground. Vanilla Latte was sweet, so most coffee lovers that frequent corporate coffee will enjoy this hometown SLC option as well. Lots of table space, we'll decorated with plenty of books to borrow during your visit, not too loud so this is a great place to meet up with friends, talk business, or just relax and enjoy excellent coffee. Recommended."
"Very cute place! Got the turmeric chai latte! It was delicious! They sell yummy breakfast food, and pastries. They also have games you can sit down with friends and play while enjoying your coffee. Can't wait to go back!"
"I found this café on Google since it was right behind the hotel I stayed at, but unfortunately, my experience was underwhelming. The ambience felt empty and cold, and the staff wasn’t very helpful or informative when I ordered. I asked for a large drip coffee with a splash of skim milk and an avocado toast with two fried eggs. They didn’t have skim milk, which was fine, so I requested whole milk instead. My coffee was served in a paper to go cup, even though I had said it was for here, and they simply handed me a gallon of milk to pour myself, which felt odd for a café setting. When my food arrived, I had to ask for cutlery and was told to get it myself from the other side of the shop. It would have been more considerate if that had been mentioned while ordering. To top it off, the eggs on my toast were freezing cold, which was very disappointing. Overall, the service and presentation felt careless, and the quality of the food didn’t make up for it. This place could be much better with more attentive staff and attention to detail."
