"Hello everyone, I wanted to share my experience at this restaurant. My boyfriend and I visited this place three times. The first time we dined in, our waiter was wonderful and the food was great. One of the main reasons we returned was because we both absolutely loved their hot chocolate. On the second day, I stopped by just to order two hot chocolates to go. I asked the lady at the front whether the cups were a regular size or if there was a larger option. She told me the size was a good, decent amount, so I agreed. The cups ended up being large, the presentation looked great, and the hot chocolate tasted just as amazing as it did on our first visit. On the third day, I returned to order the same thing—two hot chocolates to go—because they were that good. I was charged $10.31, and as I always do, I tipped, whether dining in or taking out. However, this time the cups were noticeably smaller than the day before. I politely asked the lady at the front if I could get the larger size I had received previously. She told me they only have one size. I explained that I had been there the day before and received a larger cup, and she said she would get the manager. Another woman came out and began speaking to me in Spanish, which was confusing since I understand English perfectly. Eventually, the female manager came out and told me the same thing—that they only have one size. I explained that if there was an additional charge for a larger size, I had no problem paying extra. She continued to deny that a larger size existed. After I repeated that I was willing to pay more, she brought out another small cup. I explained again that this was not what I had asked for. She then walked away with a very rude attitude. The front desk lady returned and told me I needed to pay an additional $4.37 for the larger size. I had no issue with this and explained that I had already told the manager twice that I was willing to pay extra. The manager then came out and handed me the larger hot chocolates. Once my boyfriend and I got into the car and headed back to our hotel, we waited for the drinks to cool enough to drink. Unfortunately, we were extremely disappointed. The hot chocolate was disgusting—it didn’t taste anything like it had before. It was overly milky and oily, and when we opened the lids, all we could see was oil floating on top. The appearance alone didn’t look right, and the taste confirmed it. By then, it was too late to return since we were already on our way to the hotel, and we ended up throwing both drinks away. It was very disappointing to pay $14.68 for two hot chocolates that were completely undrinkable. What upset me the most was that the manager was the one who supposedly remade them, yet they were clearly not prepared with care. This was not the quality we experienced during our previous visits. My boyfriend and I truly loved this restaurant—the food, the waitstaff, and our overall experience—until this incident. Being treated with such a bad attitude over a simple request, especially when I was more than willing to pay extra, was very disappointing. If this is how customers are treated, it makes me wonder how employees are treated as well. Overall, a very disappointing experience, especially coming from management."
"Yummy breakfast every time. 💯 OPH Sugarhouse never disappoints. Mariela was a fantastic friendly server who gave us exceptional care. I enjoyed the Classic American Breakfast, with both hashbrowns and pancakes, upcharging buttermilk pancakes to pecan and adding cheddar cheese to scrambled eggs. The best country style bacon, fluffy pancakes and real breakfast food.. 10/10"
"Simple yet delicious! The food was everything you’d want from a good breakfast spot flavorful, and fresh. I had a mix of bacon pancakes and pumpkin pancakes, and both were fluffy, perfectly cooked, and not overly sweet. The fresh orange juice was amazing too, so refreshing. The staff was super friendly and attentive, and since we went on a Monday, there was no wait at all. Highly recommend if you’re in the mood for classic breakfast done right!"
"Mariela was super attentive. So very friendly. The food is cooked fresh and served up quickly. Buttermilk Pancakes 10/10. Swedish pancakes w/Lingonberries 10/10. Bacon was crisp and so good. Would highly recommend this location-overall service 10/10!"
