"Ben Yay’s in Alexandria is an absolute gem. The beignets are incredibly authentic—perfectly light, and fluffy, and honestly even better than the ones I’ve had in New Orleans. What truly made the experience unforgettable, though, was the kindness shown to me. I arrived right after closing, and the owner graciously reopened just to offer me two beignets he had set aside for himself—and he wouldn’t even accept payment. That level of thoughtfulness and generosity is rare. Thank you so much for your kindness. I will definitely be back very soon."

"12/26/25. First time here, I live in Alexandria but never stopped in before. Friend visiting and wanted to give it a try. In the back where seating is, it was very chilly, wear your coat. The beignets were good and they offer a handful of sauces to go with them, very nice however the little container the sauces come in were half full, that was unfortunate. People like to dip. They call you when the coffee is ready and call out a second time when the beignets are ready. So walk from the back to the front twice through a tight hallway. A bit awkward when others are going back and forth too. Just call the customer when everything is ready, at the same time, and reduce the traffic. Staff was very welcoming though and kind. Bathroom. I like to see how bathrooms are maintained, it's an indicator. Their bathroom was overall clean but could use some paint touch up and clean the door threshold. Overall it was ok. Beignets were really good, Americano seemed a touch burnt."

"Hands down the best beignets and coffee. The iced mocha was delicious and I should have ordered another one to go! The beignets were delicious and I enjoyed them plain. Quick service and friendly staff. There is a large sitting area in the back which was nice to sit and enjoy our yummy treats."

"I ordered the powdered sugar beignets with chocolate sauce, and they were really good; fresh, warm, and perfectly sweet. The chocolate sauce was a great addition and paired well with the beignets. Ben YaYs itself looked nice and well kept, and the service was good and attentive. It has a dining area in the back with tables and chairs. Overall, it was a pleasant experience, and I'd definitely come back to enjoy them again."
