"Located in Old Town Alexandria, parking can be tricky. There is street parking and garages but definitely give yourself extra time to arrive and park. We had a reservation and was sat pretty quickly but we did have someone running late so not sure if they were just waiting for that person to show before coming to the table and asking for our order even for drinks. Very cute inside and easy to chat during the experience. We did end up asking if we could just put an order first and ordered for them. Pretty easy to follow menu. We all opted for the Full Tea except for one who did High Tea. I ordered the Sakura Sencha for my tea and honestly don't remember all my options as they had combined it on the same tower as my friend sitting across from me so we ended up sharing a little bit of everything. My husband did get the Beef Bourguignon English Pie and that was delicious and hearty. I also really enjoyed the Tea Sandwiches (Egg Salad and the Chicken Salad were my favorite). The Tea was good but very small leaves where the strainer provided didn't really help. Overall, an interesting experience and something I would do again."

"We hosted my best friend’s bridal shower at Lady Camellia this past weekend, and it was truly a wonderful experience! As her Matron of Honor, I handled most of the coordination with the tea shop, and I can’t say enough good things about how easy and accommodating they were to work with. They allowed us to customize so many thoughtful details—from adding the bride’s logo to the menus, to selecting her preferred tea blends, macarons, and more. The staff were professional, kind, and went above and beyond to make the day seamless and special for everyone. The space itself is absolutely beautiful and requires minimal décor. We only brought in a few vases of flowers and a shower sign, and Lady Camellia even provided a gorgeous gold easel for us to use. The food was delicious, and they were incredibly flexible—even creating a gluten-free option on the spot for one guest and offering children’s sandwiches and a kids’ menu when we had little ones in attendance. Those small touches made such a big difference, and the little girls had the best time. Overall, the entire experience was exceptional. Lady Camellia is the perfect venue for a bridal shower (or any special event), and I would highly recommend them to anyone planning a celebration."

"Such a cute spot right on the Alexandria waterfront! The place is bright, charming, and beautifully decorated — soft colors, floral china, and a relaxing vibe. The service was friendly and attentive, and the tea selection was excellent. I loved the smoked salmon and brie-apple sandwiches, and the croissants were amazing! After strolling around Old Town and window shopping, it’s the perfect place to unwind with tea. Lady Camellia was first in Georgetown DC before COVID, and I’m so glad it moved to Alexandria — the new space is much bigger and even prettier. When you’re not in the mood for afternoon tea at hotels like The Ritz or The Waldorf, this is the perfect alternative. Prices are fair, and remember — it’s Afternoon Tea, not High Tea. ☕️🍰🌸"

"The atmosphere was amazing; however, the food was less than desirable. My grand daughter & I were very excited to attend our tea time yesterday and drove over an hour to attend. The food was terrible! The cucumber tea sandwiches were tasteless & the chicken salad was just awful. Neither of us could get through the first bite. The tea, plain scone & croissant for her were very good. The tarts, macaroons, ganache… everything tasted plain. We had fun together, but would never recommend this establishment ever. I paid almost $160 for our experience yesterday and all I could do was think of my local tea room in Havre De Grace, MD and how delicious experience I had with them!"

"My friends and I have had tea at Lady Camellia’s for years now, and it is always a good experience! The food is amazing, even for my friend who has several dietary restrictions. My favorite tea there, as someone who doesn’t really like tea, is the strawberry white tea. Everything is so gorgeous and a perfect place for women!"
