What People Are Saying
from Google & Yelp"Such an absolute, fantastic, wonderful trip. My wife, myself and the pups spent an absolutely beautiful time in Old Town during New Years Eve. The restaurants, the atmosphere, the shopping, boutiques, mom and pop shops were all great. The town is such a pet friendly town. So so great. The fire works at the waterfront was spectacular. The town really knows how to put a show on. The town itself is such a clean a town, well maintained, well taken care of."
"⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The Old Town Alexandria Waterfront is a fantastic spot to start your day! I visited in the morning, and it was such a peaceful and quiet area for a scenic walk. While the area really comes alive at night, the morning vibe is incredibly charming and historic. Why I love this area: Beautiful Walkways: The walkway along the water is my favorite part. It’s very well-maintained and offers stunning views of the river. Animal Friendly: It’s a great place to bring your pets along for a stroll; I saw plenty of people out with their dogs. Dining Options: There is a huge variety of cafeterias, cafes, and restaurants to choose from. Whether you want a quick coffee or a full meal, there are options for every mood. Charming Atmosphere: The blend of historic vibes with modern amenities makes it one of the best waterfronts in the region. Whether you are looking for a quiet morning reflection or a vibrant night out, this is a must-visit spot in Alexandria!"
"Old Town Alexandria is absolutely charming. The historic streets are beautiful and full of character, with well-preserved buildings, cobblestone sidewalks, and a welcoming atmosphere. There’s a great mix of local shops, restaurants, and waterfront views that make it perfect for strolling, dining, or just relaxing. It feels lively without being overwhelming, and the history really adds to the experience. Whether you’re visiting for a day or spending a weekend, Old Town Alexandria is a wonderful place to explore."
"I always love this area. I always tell myself if I ever move back to the area I'm going to live in old town. Unfortunately the waterfront is currently flooded thanks to hurricane Erin 8/2025. But all the restaurants and bars not flooded seem to be open! I'm going to have to come back and shop during daylight hours"
"Great waterfront area with lots of cafes & bars. During the day it’s a quiet area for a walk but it really comes a live at night. If you have kids there’s some great ice cream places in Kings street just before you come to the waterfront area. The night I was there, a local boat club was out sailing and when the sun went down there were two very talented guys singing in the little park area with the Astro turf."
"The food & service was excellent. We had the baked artichoke dip with fresh sliced bread as an appetizer and Rosa linguini as an entree. We shared the food..."
