from Google"What a splendid little gem in Old Town! This is officially one of my new favorite spots in the area. The cocktails are by far some of the best I’ve had in the DMV. Seth is an expert at his craft and the whimsy of the atmosphere just adds to the already magical experience. Highly recommend! Can’t wait to try their coffee in the daytime."
"✨ The Parlour Lounge – Old Town Alexandria’s Whimsical Hidden Gem ✨ I first discovered The Parlour Lounge on Instagram after spotting a post for a Halloween candle pop-up — and I’m so glad I decided to check it out. Tucked in the heart of Old Town Alexandria, VA, The Parlour is an intimate spot that is a coffee and chocolate lounge by day and a luxe cocktail bar by night. The outdoor seating is enchanting, with little tables and tiny chandeliers overhead that create a charming, romantic vibe. Inside, The Parlour feels like you’ve stepped into someone’s home. It’s cozy, candlelit, and filled with character. The illustrated menu is full of personality. One drink, “Tears of My Enemy,” caught my eye. I didn’t order it, but someone nearby did, and it looked incredible. The manager, Seth, explained it’s a butterfly pea flower cocktail served on a silver platter with a floating ice sphere — guests are invited to set an intention before mixing it. It’s a poetic and visually stunning drink that fits the creative spirit of the space perfectly. We were there for the Hemlock & Hearth candle pop-up, which made the atmosphere feel extra special. Seth was amazing — he let us sample a piece of Dubai chocolate (rich and exquisite) and even surprised us with a complimentary mini champagne, which was such a kind and thoughtful touch. The French Onion Burger with fries and salad was also a standout — juicy, flavorful, and beautifully presented with caramelized onions on a soft brioche bun. By day, The Parlour transforms into a coffee and chocolate boutique, offering gourmet treats like blood orange bars and exotic caramels. At the end of the night, our check came tucked inside a vintage copy of Edgar Allan Poe’s “The Raven.” We even left a handwritten note inside — such a fun and personal detail that made the night feel truly memorable. ✨ Great food. Warm service. Thoughtful touches. ✨ The Parlour is the kind of hidden gem you’ll want to visit again — whether for coffee and chocolate by day or cocktails and candlelight by night. 🕯️ Do See Taste Tip: Come for the pop-ups, stay for the chocolate and cocktails, and soak up the cozy, creative magic of this one-of-a-kind space."
"Joined a friend for brunch at The Parlour and ended up staying much longer than we planned. Such a great vibe! We had a couple of drinks, including “Tears of My Enemy” and “She Walks Through Raindrops” both were fun and well-balanced. The lounge is cozy, the ambiance is perfect, and Kelvin was wonderful, super friendly and attentive. I’m looking forward to coming back for more cocktails, dinner, and to finally try the chocolate!"
"Popped into this lil place to escape the heat and get a caffeine boost. I loved the atmosphere, so unique and not “trendy” like most cafes these days. The coffee was great and Noelle was such a warm and welcoming host. She gave us a complimentary white chocolate treat to sample and served us water with our coffees. It’s tucked away right off the beaten path (King St) and is small and perfect for an intimate get together. The aesthetic is Edgar Allen Poe vibes. Super cool! The coffee is a bit expensive (~$7 for a double espresso, including tip) but worth it to sit and enjoy the ambiance. I definitely want to come back for their signature cocktails. They have different menu based on the time of day."
"Ok, this was just a weird experience today. I know that this place is managed and ran well, so please forgive me for this 2 Star Review. I have been here a few times for just coffee and have had a pretty good experience and the staff persons have always been very friendly and kind. We had a bit of weird experience today as we went in to just grab a hot coffee and a cold brew. We did come in around 1:45, and so I do understand that they were maybe closing the coffee shop at 2:30 if I read the sign correctly. I ordered just a plain black coffee, the staff member wasn't exactly friendly or welcoming and just replied "I can do an Americano". No explanation of why I couldn't get a regular coffee. Just thought that was strange. So I just said "that's fine". Then my wife ordered a regular cold brew. The staff member then said "Oh I think we are out". Ok, that's fine, but then he started looking for cold brew. Found it. Poured the remaining cold brew in a large paper coffee cup, which was like no very much cold brew at all, put a hot coffee lid on it and then gave it to my wife. no ice? no to go plastic cup? no straw? My wife then politely asked for Oat Milk. And of course, no oat milk. Then charged us like 11 bucks for these 2 items. It was just a weird experience. My wife was super confused and so was I. It felt super awkward. Again, I have been here several times and have never had this experience so hopefully it was just an off day or maybe the staff member was having a bad day. I don't hold any grudges with establishments and we will be back again soon and hopefully I can leave a 5 star review instead of this 2 star review."
