"I absolutely love this place! It’s one of the few restaurants where I can bring my dog inside and feel completely welcomed from the moment we walk in. The customer service is so on point—every staff member is warm, attentive, and genuinely kind. The food and coffee are consistently excellent, which makes every visit feel like a treat. What makes this place even more special is how supportive they’ve been on our service-dog journey. My dog started out timid, and the staff here never once made us feel out of place. They allowed us to train, practice, and learn in a real-world environment. And guess what? We just got our certification! 🎉🐾 This restaurant has been such a safe, helpful, and encouraging space for us. Having a dog-friendly spot where you can enjoy a cup of coffee, relax, and practice skills without judgment is rare—and so needed, especially for dogs in training. Honestly, we’re incredibly grateful for this team and this atmosphere. If there’s one “downfall”… it’s that I didn’t discover this place sooner. 😉 Highly recommend to all dog lovers, service-dog handlers, and anyone who appreciates good food, great people, and welcoming spaces."

"Anita’s Café and Dessert Bar is one of my favorite spots in downtown Fredericksburg. Anita herself is truly the pay-it-forward queen. She always has something kind to say, makes you feel seen and welcomed, and genuinely cares about the people who walk through her doors. She’s incredibly active in the community and leads with kindness in everything she does. Little touches like water outside for dogs and water on the sidewalk in the summer for anyone who needs hydration say so much about her heart. This place is more than a café — it’s a reflection of a truly caring person. Highly recommend supporting this local gem."

"This was our second time hitting up Anita’s, this time I wanted to try some food. The inside is open and so bright, the simplistic display of all the amazing pastries and sandwiches was beautiful, and they had flavored iced tea!! They can flavor black, green, or berry iced tea in pretty much anything you would like. I settled for peach and it was so delicious. The chicken salad on croissant was the best chicken salad I have had in a long time. You have the option of cold or toasted. There was a healthy amount of onion, celery, walnut, and cranberries mixed in. My boyfriend enjoyed his house salad with artichoke, capers, and fresh mozzarella. He also ordered the bulletproof coffee with lavender, which he loved. Everything we order from there is so fresh and just plain yummy. It is definitely one of our favorite local cafes."

"The energy in this place is amazing. It has a laid back family owned, come get a coffee & do some deep thinking work kind of vibe. The girl who took my order (Carter) was very sweet & kind answering all of my requests with a positive energy. I didn’t have the chance to try any of the sweets as I’m on a no sugar other then natural sugars from fruit diet but anywho, I will definitely be back soon. It is right next to the Courtyard Marriot (connected actually) and is relatively cheap coffee wise. Go check it out ✌🏽"

"Matcha tastes like dirt and has a grit to it. Croissant sandwich was decent but burnt. I would've returned to try different items if the service wasn't intentionally uninviting. When I walked in, the person in front cleaning was very nice but behind the counter was a completely different story. A group walked in maybe less than a minute later, enough time for the door to close but not long at all. The lady behind the counter looked at me, shifted to the side, smiled and welcomed the party behind me in. At first I thought maybe it was unintentional since the front lady said hi to me. But she did it TWICE. The first time I smiled but realized she was not speaking to me so I looked at the menu. I walked closer and got up to the register, she shifted to the side and said "welcome in guys!" And did not look my way or take my order. She then conversed with the second person behind the counter and walked away. The second person was still rigid but took my order, I will just assume that's her personality but the first lady was very clear and intentional. I will not be returning."
