"Absolutely loved my visit here. The coffee was exceptional, they use Onyx, which is one of the best coffee roasters in the country. Our barista is incredibly knowledgeable and genuinely passionate about coffee. It was refreshing to talk with someone who really understands what good coffee is supposed to taste like and is happy to share that knowledge. If you’re looking for authentic, high-quality specialty-level coffee at a very reasonable price, this is the place to go. The quality is unmatched and it’s truly a must-visit for anyone who appreciates great coffee. Highly recommend."

"We came here after reading multiple great reviews for the Lynchburg area, but unfortunately our experience left us wondering what the hype was all about. My husband and I both ordered a different signature latte, and both were bland, under flavored, and heavily milky with little espresso taste. We also ordered an almond croissant that was, while delicious, heavily over toasted to the point of charring on the edges of the pastry. The atmosphere of the shop was cute and quaint (though very small, be prepared for potentially no seating to be available), and we enjoyed using the games they had while we were there. We just wish we could say we had the same experience as others regarding our orders, and hope it was just an off day for the staff."

"I don’t normally bother leaving bad reviews but I just had the absolute worst coffee of my life from here. My husband bought me a vanilla latte with almond milk (almost $8 after a tip) and it literally tasted like sour old dish water. He thought I was being dramatic until he took on sip and dumped it down the drain. I have no clue what it was but it was foul."

"Cafe Monte Bello is a perfect little coffee shop! From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with a cozy, welcoming atmosphere and that wonderful coffee smell. The staff is incredibly friendly and genuinely cares about making sure you have a great experience. The coffee is awesome—and their pastries are just as amazing. It's really great for taking a coffee on the go, just hanging out, or relaxing with a good book. Easily one of the best spots in town!"
