"So the vibe of this place is really cool, but that was pretty much the only plus for me. I paid just over $8 for a small iced latte with vanilla syrup. All the syrups are house made which is cool, but I personally really did not like the taste. The person I went with got the butterscotch syrup and it tasted really bad to all 3 of us. It was to the point where they had to go ask for a different coffee, which thankfully the employee happily provided. They were nice and friendly, but the shop only provides you with two hours of Wi-Fi after which you have to wait 12 hours before you can access it again. It’s not friendly for people sitting in there for over two hours and everything is just really pricey."

"*Visited January 25th, shortly after opening so I do give grace for that. I got a Nutella cruffin and it was seriously so good! The coffee was not my personal favorite and ended up being around $8 for a flavored latte which for me personally, is too much. Also, I had my 20 month old son come with me and there were a ton of kids touching the piano, so naturally my son wanted to too. As soon as we walked up to it an employee told us “only professionals can play the piano” and covered the keys. Not the most kid-friendly atmosphere and it seemed clear to me they were not interested in serving the entire community (including families with young kids). Every business has their style and rights to run it how they please, which is fine, just not a place I will probably revisit for sometime as I have little kids that I like to take with me while I grab coffee. Wanted to share my experience in case anyone else has younger kids and wanted to try!"

"When first walking into Ironclad, it is apparent that a lot of thought and money went into the design and buildout of the 1920s inspired shop equipped with modern Split-Flap boards and high-end equipment and furniture. Unfortunately, the atmosphere and coffee were cold and mediocre. With constant reminders of rules that most customers inherently understand such as "no outside food" or "if you're sitting better be sippin" the shop seems more interested in a transaction than a place to gather and drink coffee. Additionally, the coffee did not make up for the unwelcoming atmosphere. Despite the websites claims of quality, the coffee did not live up to the expectations of the coffee experience found in other specialty coffee shops. The espresso lacked flavor and the single origin beans were nearly impossible to extract any notes outside of the bitter roast taste (despite switching between, V60, Chemex, Kalita, and Pulsar and various grind settings). The hope is that this shop will improve over time as Lynchburg needs more specialty coffee shops."

"Such a cute place! The decor and branding is fantastic!! I am normally a caramel latte girl but they had a fantastic butterscotch latte that the cashier recommended. The coffee was amazing! I also got a chocolate chip scone and cheesecake for my boyfriend. Both pastries were delicious! Clean Bathroom. Plenty of parking. Great Setting. Can’t wait to go back!"

"This place is probably the best coffee shop in Lynchburg. The atmosphere is great and the pastries are amazing. I think it probably has the best pastries in town. The coffee was good as well. The only downside is how expensive the coffee shop is in general."
