What People Are Saying
from Google"“Marigold Breakfast: Where oatmeal and espresso fuel your soul (and your wallet cries quietly in the corner).” If you’re in downtown Lynchburg and want to start your morning like a classy squirrel, Marigold is the spot. $6 for instant oatmeal? Absolutely. Because nothing says “luxury” like paying café prices to rip open a pouch you could’ve bought in bulk at Kroger. But hey, they pour steamed milk over it, so suddenly it’s gourmet. The Belgian waffle comes with a choice of syrup or peanut butter, which honestly feels like a test of moral character. I chose syrup, but my friend went peanut butter—and the waffle disappeared in three bites, so maybe he won life. The espresso menu is proudly Starbucks (because apparently we can’t quit her), but the prices come with a little Lynchburg flair. My Vanilla Latte cost just enough to make me consider taking out a small loan, but it was smooth enough that I didn’t mind. By the time I finished, I was either caffeinated or spiritually levitating. Also, shoutout to the “whole fruit” section of the menu. For $2, you too can live dangerously and order… an apple. Revolutionary. Pro tip: Breakfast goes until 11:30, but if you roll in at 11:29, the staff smiles politely like, “Sure, you can still order oatmeal,” while silently judging your life choices. Final Verdict: Come for the muffins, stay for the overpriced Pop-Tarts, and leave buzzing from espresso like you just got drafted into NASCAR."
"Despite some previous negative reviews our experience was the exact opposite! The food was excellent: omelet, quiche, breakfast biscuit, and coffees were all very good. Service was also prompt and courteous!"
"Outstanding staff and service, food that you can't ever complain about, fresh flowers on the tables and cloth napkins. You'd have to really be a miserable person to find something wrong with this place. Its amazing, I've been to Seattle and haven't been to a coffee shop this nice. I'd give it more stars if I could 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟"
"This place was an absolute horrible experience. First of all I ordered a panini and I received a microwaved sandwich. This is not a panini. You would think they would have a panini press if they were selling paninis. The workers were more worried about flirting with eachother than serving their customers. This is the worst cafe in Lynchburg. Period. How do you stand there and sell a customer this garbage for $10?"
"This is inside The Virginian Hotel. Basically a Starbucks, but not busy and quiet."
