"We visited Sunday Morning Bakery last Sunday, and it was packed! It was hard to find a seat, but luckily, a super kind lady gave up her table for my friend and me (huge thanks to her — she was so nice! 💕). For the pastries, we loved the croissant the most. We also tried the matcha croissant — the filling was delicious, not too sweet, and paired perfectly with the crispy, flaky layers. That’s a solid 10/10 from us! The tuna croissant salad was also amazing — another 10/10. If you’re a croissant fan, this is definitely the place to check out. The strawberry jelly donut wasn’t really our taste. We liked the filling, but the donut texture wasn’t quite what we prefer. As for the drinks, we were a bit disappointed. If we could suggest something — we’d love if the latte wasn’t pre-mixed. We prefer seeing that beautiful milk and espresso layer. The staff looked super busy and working really hard, but we hope they can get a bit more help — especially for cleaning and customer service."

"This recently opened bakehouse in McLean offers breakfast sandwiches and a variety of freshly baked goods, such as donuts, croissants, and cookies. They serve coffee and latte drinks in a spacious, clean, minimal setting with high ceilings, creating a welcoming atmosphere. Parking validation is available in the nearby garage, which is convenient. Although the music was loud initially, it quickly softened, adding to the relaxing breakfast environment. Located close to the McLean Metro station, they also offer lunch items, cocktails, and mocktails on weekends. The overall food quality was acceptable, though it tended to be mild in seasoning and lacked some elements that might make dishes more flavorful. The smoked salmon breakfast sandwich included a few capers but did not feature other seasonings. The breakfast platter looked appealing but did not stand out or impress us. The pistachio bun was satisfactory but less sweet than expected, while the pumpkin spice donut was enjoyable with its cinnamon and pumpkin spice filling. Given that it is a bakehouse, we anticipated a higher standard of baked goods, and our experience with the treats was somewhat underwhelming. The coffee was also mild, with a watered-down quality and subtle flavor profile lacking a strong body. Overall, the offerings may appeal to those who prefer lighter seasoning, though they did not meet our personal preferences."

"TL;DR: cute cafe space with yummy pastries Stopped by here on a Tuesday afternoon, and it was nice and quiet while having several full tables. It ended up filling up quickly around 4:30PM. They have an extensive menu or drinks, breakfast/lunch food, and a case full of baked goods. FOOD/DRINK: ~Gingerbread latte (3/5): was a solid latte but I didn't taste much gingerbread flavor. The little gingerbread person cookie then gave with it was a nice treat though ~Mushroom Tart (4.5/5): the pastry is so flaky and flavorful. Lamination was on point. The mushroom filling was earthy and flavorful. ~Hazelnut Croissant (3.9/5): Highly recommend eating it there. Took it togo, and the flakiness fell apart. Or put it in the air fryer/convection for a few minutes to crisp is back up. Filling has good Nutella flavor ~Sea salt chocolate chunk cookie (4.5/5): didn't take a picture, but if you like thinner and chewier cookies, this thing was exactly that. If you don't like that type of cookie, then this isn't for you. That little punch of sea salt you get adds a nice punch at the end. Overall, I would definitely come back for a meal and/or coffee date."

"Glad to see they've opened a Sunday Morning in NoVa. This location is spacious and provides more seating than the one in Northern Bethesda! All day menu items can get pricey, especially when you get the add-ons, but the food was tasty. Avocado Toast - Sourdough was thick and had a slight crunch. What I really enjoyed was the combo of the olive oil, mashed avocado and sea salt. Simple in execution, but provided good flavor and balanced out with the fried egg. Breakfast Sandwich - Pillowy brioche with a slight zing from the gochujang. Eggs were soft and bacon provided the necessary saltiness to this sandwich. Feel like it could do with a crunch factor like a crispy hash brown to round out the dish. Cinnamon Roll - This is why I come here early on the weekends. Have it warmed in the cafe or at home and you'll cut into a cloud-like dough that provides that melts in your mouth and offers the sweetness you expect from a cinnamon roll. Don't know if they only make a small batch, but there is a limit to how many you can buy."

"2nd review: We came back for a weekend breakfast. The breakfast plate and the turkey pesto sandwich are both delicious, and the service is also great & timely. However, the utensils are not particularly clean in general, so I’ll keep the 4 stars rating for now as of Dec 2025. 1st review: We came here on Sunday afternoon and bought six pastries (e.g., almond croissant, matcha croissant, apple croissant, banana bread with chocolate chips, coffee cake?!). The pastries were all pretty good. The staff was a bit slow (they took a while to put a stamp on the box & assemble the box…) I believe they will get much more efficient after the store opens for a while. Would love to come back and check it out soon!"
