"The Brooklyn in Richmond, VA is my favorite new place in the whole city! From the moment you walk in, the space feels warm, thoughtfully designed, and effortlessly cool—the kind of place you immediately want to make your go-to. The service is truly outstanding. Every person we interacted with was friendly, attentive, and genuinely invested in creating a great experience. There’s a clear sense that the team takes pride in what they do, and it shows in even the smallest details. The food is exceptional—fresh, intentional, and beautifully executed. Each dish arrives artfully plated and delivers even more on flavor. The profiles are layered, balanced, and memorable, with nothing feeling rushed or predictable. The wood-fire element adds depth and character throughout the menu. The cocktail program is equally impressive: creative yet balanced, made with high-quality ingredients by bartenders who clearly know their craft. The by-the-glass wine selection is also excellent and thoughtfully curated. From the atmosphere to the food to the service, everything works seamlessly together. It’s rare to find a restaurant where every element is this consistently strong, but The Brooklyn truly delivers. If you’re in Richmond and looking for a standout dining experience, this is a must. I couldn’t recommend The Brooklyn more—and I’m already looking forward to my next visit."

"What a gem of a find! A killer menu, and a vibe that somehow feels both intimate and lively. Standout picks: the white beans with kale, the branzino, and the ribeye. The flavors were balanced, generous, and downright satisfying. Word on the street from nearby diners was that the meatloaf is a must. Friendly, attentive staff who checked in without hovering, and we even struck up some great conversations with fellow patrons and team members. Highly recommend, and we can’t wait to be back soon for round two!"

"This is amazing addition to the Richmond food scene. The Brooklyn took over the vacant building at 1616 summit. They have transformed it into a cozy & sophisticated restaurant. It was a great evening from beginning to end. They have a extensive wine list & the servers are attentive and knowledgeable. We ordered the kale salad, squash, branzino & the pork skewers. The pork was the standout dish, but they were all great. The dessert was also amazing, Affogato. I can't wait to go back."

"Awesome new spot in Scott’s Addition. Came in for drinks but also had the carpaccio which was especially delicious. The Bywater (recommended by Luke) was one of the better cocktails I’ve had in a while. Staff were all very friendly and obviously well versed in cocktail making. Looking forward to what y’all have in store. Only constructive criticism I’d offer is I thought the music was a little loud for dinner time. It wasn’t super crowded, and I found it challenging to hear my friend and some of the staff there. Not a big deal. Also the front door opens right out to the street so I’d be prepared for cold gusts of wind to come right into the dining room. Maybe consider some sort of partition or something to dampen that effect. Wasn’t an issue when I was there but I was sitting about as far from the door as one could. Hope to go back soon for dinner."
