What People Are Saying
from Google"Sunnyside was right down the street from our hotel- The Schooner Inn, so it was a no brainer for our first breakfast at the beach. It was a busy Saturday morning, so the wait was expected, we waited around 30 minutes to get seated. Luckily there are shops and stuff nearby you can walk around and burn some time. The food was pretty good- we tried the smoked salmon Benedict and the classic Benedict. The only complaint would be the English muffin was a little tough to cut through , but the potatoes and poached eggs were awesome. The kids got chocolate chip pancakes which they loved! The mimosa was good, and the Bloody Mary was very plain- but overall decently priced drinks. Our server was very hospitable and made us feel at home."
"If you want to have a breakfast in a Saturday, you need to go early and get in the line. We waited about 15 min. But it worth it. Sunny side eggs were delicious. Pancakes are good. Coffee is good. I just think potatoes was a little dry. But a beautiful breakfast place you should try."
"Visited on a Sunday morning for breakfast and had a wonderful experience. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the staff was very friendly. We were seated quickly, and our drinks arrived soon after. The Bloody Mary special was excellent, and the Greyhound was crisp, refreshing, and easily the standout. The food was outstanding as well. The highlight was the homemade corned beef hash—delicious and clearly made with care. Our waitress was attentive and helpful, taking the time to explain each item being served. Overall, a fantastic visit and a great start to the day."
"4/12/25 The food was decent with a good amount of servings. I was able to add extra items on my omelet with no issues. Our server was great and kept us taken cared of. My big issue was our car getting towed in the parking lot next to their building. To hear from some staff members that it has happened a lot would have been beneficial if out of towners, like we were, have been warned. To top it off, there were some snarky remarks from a server "well there were some signs that says they tow" really doesn't help - really convenient for her because she works there. Yes, there could have been some signs but obviously it wasn't visible enough. At least the rest of the staff were empathetic to our situation with the exception of one server. Tow fee came out to $227.00 and it was almost 2 miles away. Not really worried about the money - it was more about our schedule. So be warned, DO NOT PARK next door because it's hotel parking."
"Service was a bit snippy towards "tourists". Food was okay. Other places in Virginia Beach that seemed more welcoming with better food and service. We asked if they validated parking for the lot about behind the restaurant and I was answered with "we're a waterfront restaurant." When I just looked at her with obvious confusion she added "we don't have parking". But there is a lot behind the restaurant with their name on it. So I guess maybe they make more money off selling parking then restaurant customers? The breakfast burrito was okay. The eggs were cooked scrambled and potatoes were okay. The sausage gravy was so thin you had to squint to see it."
