What People Are Saying
from Google & Yelp"Mae's is an absolute fantastic place to get a breakfast on a Sunday morning! The Erin (owner) was running the floor today by herself and was absolutely killing it. That women is an absolute super hero! There was a little wait in food but it's so WORTH IT. The Maple-Mosa is a MUST! Their were to die for and real local VT maple syrup that can't be beat. They up charge for fake syrup which they absolutely should! I can't say enough about my favorite restaurant and would highly recommend this spot to everyone."
"We stopped by here for brunch leaving from Sugarbush. The food was great and so was service. We had the crabcake benedict, Irish egg benedict, omelette and waffle and they were all very good. The atmosphere was very welcoming."
"Went here due to it being the only place that serves mimosas and opens early. Wait time was a bit long but understandable as there was only one waitress for the entire restaurant. The breakfast sandwiches were very good and hot! The mimosas tasted excellent but we didn’t get a chance to order another one before we got our bill so we kinda got the point that we needed to leave. The house potatoes were not very good or had much seasoning, maybe try pairing with some roasted potatoes or hash browns instead. The waitress was nice and was trying the best she could but it was obvious she was overwhelmed. Place was very clean. We will definitely be back for lunch when visiting this town again!"
"Last year while driving across Vermont with my cousin to Saratoga, we were in Brandon, Vermont and hungry. It was early in the day and we walked into Mae’s and had a delicious breakfast. It’s just a nice unassuming café and a lovely little town. This year I happened to be in Vermont and I made a beeline for Mar’s to have breakfast and it did not disappoint. The portions are large and generous, and the prices are fair and the atmosphere is friendly. Plus the bathroom is super clean. Definitely worth a stop."
"The food was great, the people were friendly, and I'd probably eat there again. I like simple food, Diner-style, and I seek those places out. Mae's is housed in an old historic brick building in Brandon, along with many other businesses. There is a pleasant park across the way, and some outdoor seating. the only thing that left me bewildered was the plain black-and-white decor, overly modernized, which didn't fit in with the kind of food served or the old building. It felt sterile and cold. Not what I'd expect of a diner-type restaurant. I guess some people like that "style," but I'd prefer the 50's vibe most old diners have. A single unisex bathroom. There was, though, good access for my wheelchair. Again, the food was great, and good quantity, so I give Mae's five stars. The decor is a subjective thing."
"I've lived in town for over 12 years now. When ever you want to get a good meal at a reasonable price Mae's is the place to go."
