"As as born and raised NYC kid I stopped bringing bagels back after visiting my folks once I found this place. They have the best bagels I've found in a decade of living in Vermont and I will tell everyone I know about them! It's fascinating to read the reviews and compare them to my experience as a regular customer for the past five years. If you order online you need to tell the cashier when you arrive - standing and waiting without saying anything makes you look like all of the other people who are simply waiting for their orders to be finished or reading the menu. People like a wide range of things - if you put too much cream cheese on someone else's bagel they'll complain that you're wasting food and drowning their bagel, if you cut back because of those complaints someone else will complain that you put too little. The staff isn't doing it "wrong" on purpose, they're just not mind readers. I recommend telling them exactly what you want, and they'll try to get it right for you. Are they perfect every time? No. Thank god they're not heart surgeons, so it's OKAY if they're not perfect. If the kid behind the counter forgets the capers I ask for more; if I discover it after I've left, then I mention it the next time and they're VERY apologetic and try to make it better. Like your bagel warm? Ask for it to be toasted. Like your bagel to be dark and crispy? Ask for them to toast it "until it's dark and crispy." I've watched far too many people find that there's no more milk or sugar at the coffee area and instead of telling someone about it, passively stand and look disappointed as though their minds should be being read. The place is packed; be helpful and tell someone if you need something!!!"

"I’ve lived in the NNE since 2012. When we moved here we didn’t have much in the way of ways to make breakfast. Getting food here was so awesome! It was fast, convenient, and the food was really good. Now, it has suddenly gone downhill, epically. The place is dirty, the food is ok if you’re really hungry, but the service sucks. Absolutely abysmal, I asked to have my bagel toasted, it wasn’t. And they cut the bagel in half with a knife that was used for several other bagels. It totally ruined my breakfast, I have a sandwich club card almost halfway through but will probably never fill it out. Really disappointed with how everything goes downhill so fast."

"Convenient to where I was staying, so I was here a lot. Food is great, creemees are great! Staff at EVERY encounter were pleasant, accurate even when it was crazy busy!!"

"A pretty solid bagel shop. Fair prices, relatively good bagel and topping variety. They did not carry vegan cream cheese which was unfortunate as most bagel places in the area do carry it. The bagels were traditional American bagels. I got the cheddar jalapeño with egg salad and my partner got garden vege with hummus on an Italiano bagel (seemingly an everything bagel). Overall the food was good. The line was a but confusing and could made clearer with arrows or better signage. They had some coffee equipment but it seemed largely closed down when we visited at 10am. Overall it was a pretty good bagel and we will likely stop by again (hopefully to find some vegan cream cheese or tofutti for my partner!)."

"foods fine but I don't know what they're doing to the staff. they are the most consistently miserable lot of ppl that I've ever met, and I truly mean that. it's like every person that works there is having the worst day in their life everyday, but not in a angry passionate way, just in a really depressing way that leaves a mark on you after you leave."
