I really think this place is beautiful and great!"
"Yellow Mustard Deli is simply WONDERFUL! As we are from out of town (Texas), we asked some locals for a recommendation for a good place to eat lunch while we were traveling through Montpelier. Yellow Mustard came highly recommended. My wife and I ordered two things - a Cuban panini and a Rancho Bernardo wrap. Both were absolutely superb. Serving size was generous, prices were very reasonable, and the service was simply amazing. The very personable gentleman who made these for us came out from behind the counter to ask us how we liked our meals and said he wanted to be sure that we were delighted with what he had made. His was so genuine and so pleasant that this added to our experience. Both my wife and I remarked that we were enjoying the best sandwiches and wraps that we had ever found in a deli…..anywhere! If we lived anywhere in the area, we would undoubtedly be regular customers at Yellow Mustard.. We usually don’t take the time to review restaurants, but the praise that we are expressing herein is well deserved. Try it - you’ll love it!"
"Loved my sandwich at the Yellow Mustard! I ordered Gabe’s Favorite and it was fantastic. They let you add any kind of veggies and customize the spreads. Was very tasty and will absolutely be coming back."
"This review is more for management than for prospective customers. The blonde woman who I understand is the manager at this location is unfortunately very unpleasant. I didn't want to write this review but I left feeling so uncomfortable that I felt I had no choice. I patiently waited about 5-10 minutes while another customer made their order. I finally placed my order and sat down. My half sub was toasted and done within a minute or two of me sitting down, so when I was called the first time to pick up my order I didnt realize it was mine. Then the woman shouted the order again I didn't understand what she said but she was so loud I turned to look and she gestured at me with the sandwich, so I thanked her and sat down to eat. While I ate I was listening to how other customers were treated, as well as how the other employee who is clearly training was treated. She talked down to him and was very curt and short with her responses. He was trying to be helpful and ask what he could do to start the cleaning and closing process (it was about 10 minutes to close, so I was already hurrying to finish so I wouldn't hold anyone up as I worked in foodservice and understand how it feels to have patrons in the house near closing) and asked if he could sweep, to which she answered No because a patron is in the house, with a frustrated tone. I was already debating on speaking up about the bad atmosphere but this made me chime in and say "no please go ahead and sweep, I don't mind" to which she responded that it's company policy not to with folks in the house, and that she wasnt rushing me to leave because they aren't closed yet. I then spoke up and said ´hey, I think I'm going to leave anyway because I'm so uncomfortable. I'm not sure if you're in a bad mood or the kind of day you're having but the way you've been interacting with others has been very rude and cold' - so she kept trying to interrupt me to say she wasn't in a bad mood and that she's just like that because she's busy and focused. The other older gentleman in training tried to apoligize and say he's made a lot of mistakes today to validate my comment, but she cut him off and again rudely interjected "it's not about making mistakes" and insisted that her demeanor is just how she is and that she's just focused. I stated as politely as I could that I also work in foodservice and that her demeanor could easily be taken the wrong way by patrons who would be made to feel like they've done something wrong. She thanked me and said that she's never gotten that kind of feedback before and can't tell how customers perceive her, but all the while she was still cutting me off and speaking quickly and loudly and it felt like she was trying to get me to stop talking and drop it. I even pointed that out, that how she's talking to me is still not very comfortable and that I only spoke up to help her be aware of her demeanor so that it didn't end up on a negative review. Someone walked in at this time to deliver something to the business, and the other gentleman in training came over to thank me for speaking up while the woman was engaging with the delivery person. He told me that she can be kind of mean to him and that she sometimes can make people uncomfortable, he told me he also works a second foodservice job at nights, and he seems like he's doing his best already. He was very kind and I could tell he appreciated that someone could see that he was not being treated well and that it validated how he was feeling. I also saw that this location is hiring. After this experience, who in their right mind would want to work under this manager and be treated so negatively? I hope that the older gentleman who is in training doesn't feel stuck there, and that he can find somewhere else to work where he can be appreciated for his efforts instead."
"So many great sandwiches to choose from! But if you want to create your own custom order they will make it! Ordered on the app and used the text box to add a note to an order and they definitely read and get the orders right! Very good subs and their cookies are delicious!! Definitely recommend!"
