"December 2025: In this era of medium & light roast. One in which you bring a cup of coffee to your face, to your lips, into your mouth. Only to be greeted with sour lemon, lime & rhubarb, I just want to scream. And spit it out. In anger and defiance I holler, WHAT ever happened to gorgeous oily black French roast! I have grimaced and handed back to baristas in some of the most coffee-centric cities in the country, the $8 pour over that tastes like a popsicle. I’m talking to you, Portland, Berkeley, Brooklyn. And here, my French Roast drinking friends, I bring you one of the best French Roasts I’ve ever tasted. I’ve got Fidalgo on re-order subscription at this point and yes it’s a pretty penny. Mmmmmm, please Fidalgo if you’re reading this, don’t let anyone tell you that French Roast means “burnt” and it’s out of fashion. It’s not. We’re out here, and we love you. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️"

"I have a huge to do list, but I'm stopping to write this review. I have been enjoying Fildalgo's 'Organic Italian Roast' for a few years now. I make it at home and often bring it on the road to make in my stove top espresso. I traveled this weekend to run a 50k. I did not bring my coffee. Now I am back and I just had a sip and its feels life changing. Enough to pause and write this. Made in a stove top espresso it is one of the most spectacular cups of coffee I have ever had. It reminds me of the best espresso made coffee I have had in Italy. Smokes whatever I have had in Spain and France. Perhaps Melbourne comes close... and in these cases I'm talking about hand pulled espresso. I'm making this cup on a 30 dollar stove top stainless steel Bialetti. It brings out this roast to create a round rich body that somehow seems to have substance beyond the beans and water it is made from. Soul enriching. Each sip gives me feelings of vigor, happiness and hope. A balance of sweet, bitter and astringent. Its a cup so good I know I can only have two, but that second one will never be as good as the first. It cant be. Just like how you can never quite go home... I will strive today, I will strive hard enough to hope to earn my sleep fast and when I wake tomorrow I know I will have an ally in this Fildago's 'Organic Italian Roast' and for a brief moment my thoughts will course with pleasant memories half remembered of far off places as I sit cozy in my home and plan and act of things to do and dream of memories not yet made."

"We order Sunset Blend coffee 12-13 times a year. It’s phenomenal coffee and the roast date is always near to when they ship your order. It never takes more than a day between order and receipt. Their customer service is second to none. I have made a couple absent minded orders of the pre-ground stuff over the last couple of years and they have gone as far as to send me fresh whole bean replacements out of the goodness of their hearts. "OH LAWD! Literally the best espresso beans I’ve ever put through my Breville. Grinds, tamps, and perfect pressure every single shot that is made. Taste is 10/10 and the caffeine is just enough to make me stay awake but not send me into another dimension. I will go to every store until I find Fidalgo espresso beans before cheating on them with an off brand."
