What People Are Saying
from Google"So, this was our 3rd visit...to what we lovingly refer to "Coffee in the woods". The setting is beautiful...as is the scenery along the winding road to get to this hidden jewel. The service is tip top and responsive...and always with a smile. The coffee is outstanding and the meals are ample, hot, and oh so delicious. The cheesy biscuits and sausage gravy were topped with two poached eggs. I have to say that this was one of the best ever...and I have had this meal across America. The biscuits were moist and tasty, the gravy was loaded with sausage, and poached eggs were perfectly done. The other meal was eggs Benedict...and was equally enjoyed with mouth savoring flavors. A wee bit more lemon on the Hollandaise sauce would have made it a 10. Oh yes, the owner wanders around checking on service and seeking input on the meals...a pleasant and caring interaction. This is place is an outstanding dining experience. Oops, if the weather is good, you must check out the secluded outdoor dining areas...and enjoy your meal while communing with nature."
"Food just tastes great plain and simple!!! Lovingly seasoned and no boring bites! We got the gravy and sausage eggs benedict, lavender honey sin cake, and infused milk lattes. 3 for 3 flawless!!!! Not only that but it's in the most lovely space. We used to come here before the old cafe shut down, but are so happy the space is back up and the new menu is even better!"
"This place is truly one of a kind and a hidden gem. The owner Dawn (Coffee at Dawn - very clever!) has done such a wonderful job of creating a very unique and tranquil space where you can sit down and enjoy a cup of joe with friends. Everything is very well run, clean and organized. The staff are very friendly and the service was great. We had some eggs, roasted potatoes, avocado toast, bacon, and sausage as well as freshly made guacamole and hollandaise sauce. The food was all homemade freshly prepared and tasted delicious. They have lots of different options and amazingly fresh baked pastries as well. You have your usual sort of coffee drink drinks and then also a bunch of specialty drink drinks. We had the golden sun masala latte which was very unique and tasty. We will definitely be back!"
"Wow! We woke up in the mood to find some delicious pastries on the island - and Coffee at Dawn did not disappoint! We came around 12:00 on a Tuesday and while they didn’t have the full selection of pastries there was still plenty to choose from. We got the blueberry danish and blueberry muffin and both were decadent, moist and satisfying! The danish was a standout for the perfectly thick layer of custard filling. We also ordered and almond milk latte with the house made Tahitian vanilla. The latte came with unique art of a groovy flower on top. The vibes are top tier! We’re very excited to return for full breakfast soon."
"Delicious and thoughtful food and and coffee served at a cafe in the woods on Whidbey Island! It’s a great place to meet up for breakfast before visiting the village of Langley or to cap off a morning walk. Not far off of 525 for folks who are commuting or heading to/from the ferry, but still feels like a quiet escape. Friendly staff! Give it a try!"
