What People Are Saying
from Google & Yelp"Stopped in to buy a bag of the House Blend coffee last week. There was no greeting from who was behind the counter. Just a “$20” when I went to pay. Not very welcoming. As far as the coffee, it has a strong tangy taste. Comparable to Amazon Peruvian whole bean which is a much better price. I was expecting better. I was hoping to be able to support a local business but with the lack of friendly vibe and imo not great coffee I won’t be back. Maybe other blends are better?"
"I was so excited to come in for the first time. Had heard the owners are lovely and the coffee as well. Stopped in to get some beans for a stocking stuffer today, and yikes! The atmosphere of whoever was working was so uninviting. Definitely got the vibe that I was not worthy of being spoken to because I wasn't cool enough. Didnt respond to me saying hi or thank you. Blank stare. I absolutely would have spent more time in there and gotten a coffee but I paid, grabbed those beans and ran out. Probably wont go back as I felt unwelcome. Edit to review: I am from the valley and a part of the community. Recovering from the flood wasn't what was happening. I was actually purposely supporting downtown businesses after a day of lost business. My family was negatively and personally impacted by flooding. Trust me. I would understand."
"Superb coffee, wonderful vibe, and it’s just all about the coffee. The minimalist digs emphasize their focus on the coffee, and every cup receives thoughtful individual attention. I’ve had coffee from some of the most coffee-focused spots in the world, and aside from my friend Rory’s insanely detailed home coffee making, Dorothea’s pour-over coffee is the best I’ve had. Bonus points for the huge variety of single-origin coffees for sale, and the beautiful historic Mt Vernon neighborhood surrounding them. Allow some extra time to go for a stroll around the neighborhood with your cup of coffee in hand, or to have a leisurely chat with the folks making this damn fine coffee, to quote Agent Cooper."
"Pour overs and brews, no espresso beverages on site. We got their espresso beans to try at home. Friendly folx. New shop and right next to great art galleries and the downtown area."
"This is one of the few places you can go in Northern Washington that will serve you a high quality pour-over with beans where the quality and flavor can surprise you!"
"What a great little shop. They focus on brewed coffee (no espresso offerings). We both enjoyed the cold brew. Strong and smooth! Also has a wonderful..."
