The owner introduced himself and enthusiastically told me about their gluten-free scones, which immediately caught my attention. My favorite scones are also gluten-free, but since they’re based in D.C., I don’t get to have them often. I ordered two sweet scones and one savory. Since there weren’t prices posted, I was shocked when the total came out to over $30 for three scones. The garlic rosemary scone was flavorful, with a chewy texture, though it leaned more toward a bread-like consistency with a bit of an eggy taste. The stuffed fruit scone had the same chewy, tapioca-like texture, which wasn’t quite what I was expecting from a traditional scone. I can tell the owner puts care into his products, but for me personally, the texture and flavor didn’t match what I typically look for in a scone. Still, I appreciate the friendly service and unique gluten-free options, which I know many people value."

I grabbed some for my aunt, who also has a gluten intolerance, and I can not wait to give them to her.
