What People Are Saying
from Google"A cute, small local Vietnamese inspired coffee shop run by a 26 year old dreamer/business owner and her fam+friends. She brings a dynamic menu with Vietnamese inspired flavors. One of my favorites being pandan! I will say I didn't get the pandan coming through in my matcha as much as I would have liked but the authentic tea flavor is crucial for me and checked the box. The banana matcha was perfectly sweetened, not too much, and also still kept that authentic tea taste. They thankfully have non dairy options! There are also some small bites you can get. I didn’t get any this time around. The space gets crowded fast being in a busier area, but it's clean, they're friendly and provide fast and efficient service. The style brings a minimalistic modern contemporary ambiance and lots of bright light from the big windows. I also appreciated some of the art in there! Great for a quick pick me up, a solo date, or to slow down and take in a moment for yourself."
"TL;DR: Super popular tea/coffee spot with higher-quality ingredients than most places in Seattle, but they’re struggling to keep up with demand and keep drinks and service consistent. Cold Gloomy Matcha is to die for. This is easily one of the most unique, fancy tea/coffee places in Seattle. But one day I was craving a simple hot matcha, so I ordered just that — and honestly, the result has been bothering me enough that I felt compelled to leave a review in hopes the owners might see it and improve. The good part: the matcha powder quality. It wasn’t ceremonial grade, but it was noticeably better than what most spots use in Seattle. The not-so-great part: they completely ruined it with overheated milk. When matcha is exposed to excessive heat, it turns bitter, and that’s exactly what happened. The milk was also so hot it was uncomfortable to drink, and over-steamed milk can taste off on its own. On top of that, the matcha was very sweet — even though the menu didn’t mention sweetness, and I wasn’t asked about it. I asked the barista to remake it. When I explained the issue, it didn’t seem like they understood the cause, which feels like a training opportunity for the owners. The remake was almost comical: the milk was barely warm, and I’m pretty sure they used less matcha powder. I’d be willing to come by again, but for now having a bitter aftertaste ;)"
"I love the aesthetic, it’s the perfect place to catch up with a friend! They have some bigger tables, but those fill up quickly so a little hard to work from here. I miss their old, very minimal branding, but it is consistent with their new downtown location by the Waterfront. The Banana Coffee is my favorite, even as a non-coffee drinker."
"Aroom is another staple cafe in my Seattle cafe list. The coffee and matcha drinks are amazing. The only con is that it’s a smaller cafe but they just opened up a larger location in downtown and I’m so excited to check it out! Anyways the wait time to order can be long but the drinks always come out fast."
"One of my favs coffee shops/matcha shops in Seattle! Love their subtle balance of matcha intensity & sweetness & innovative flavors. I ordered Pandan Matcha latte this time. 5/5. If you are a person who is fond of Thai/Viet food, you certainly know about this culinary plant and its charm, then you should try it. Great balance. Novel beverage. To the owner: please keep bringing such great innovative beverage for this city. Support you!"
