from Google & Yelp"Visited this lovely cafe in Ballard! Heard it’s a German-Chinese fusion spot with creative flavors. We ordered the savory brick toast with zucchini, Chinese sausage, cream cheese, and a hint of cumin, such a unique and surprisingly delicious combination. Also tried their honey cake, which had a texture similar to cheesecake, light and satisfying. For drinks, we had the seaweed latte. At first, I could taste a slightly salty soy sauce caramel note, but after eating, it mellowed into a rich coffee flavor. We also ordered the Shanghai Fog (osmanthus oolong latte). The osmanthus aroma was delicate and refreshing, not too sweet, the kind of drink you can sip on for a long time. Would definitely order this one again! The vibe is cozy and had seats both indoor and outdoor. Street parking isn’t too hard to find on a Saturday morning. Highly recommended!"
"One of my favorite cafes in the city! One of those rare cafes where both the food and the drinks are equally good. The breakfast sandwich and the yuzu vanilla tonic are my favorite. Everyone who works here is super sweet too!"
"We were visiting from out of town and stumbled on Cardoon, and I'm really happy we did. The food, drinks, and staff were fantastic and I'll definitely be coming back when I'm back in town. The German and Chinese spin on food dishes was really interesting. The tomato and egg rice was really unexpected but really delicious as the flavours instantly reminded me of Berlin and currywurst. The sausage and veg toast was also really yummy. The coffee was great too! I really enjoyed the seaweed latte. It's definitely a must try."
"We tried Latte's, and the honey cake. This might be an unpopular opinion, but the flavors, both the soy caramel and the lava carmel, were pretty unappetizing. The flavors also came with an extra $1.40 charge, which felt a bit steep. I asked if they had regular caramel, but unfortunately they didn't. Out of curiosity, I also asked what the lava caramel was made of, but the barista didn't seem to know. The honey cake was actually quite good-light and flavorful-but again, on the pricey side. Overall, the place feels a bit overhyped. I might return to try a plain latte, but wouldn't go out of my way for anything else."
"Love this spot! Very unique menu offerings and everything we’ve tried here has been amazing. The tea and specialty drink options are all great with some very creative flavor profiles! I love the extra attention to tea, non alcoholic beverages, and caffeine free options. The pastry and sweets are delicious and definitely worth picking up. The rose cookie is yummy! We were not blown away by the food and wouldn’t really come here for that. Decent amount of indoor seating. Overall we will definitely keep coming back here for their drinks and sweets!"
