What People Are Saying

"The food here used to be way better. This time my sandwich was tough pieces of toast, burnt bacon, floppy lettuce, super thin pickles, and a few bits of soggy fried chicken. When I asked if one item could be removed, I got treated to a patronizing "small business" spiel about why they couldn't. I'd buy that more if it was clear that the sandwich had been unwrapped and tossed in a microwave or panini press to warm up, but it had clearly been made from pieces or at least disassembled before reassembly. I know being a small business is hard, but you don't have to be a prat to your customers with that as your crutch. They also apparently can't do more than one thing at once, because everyone's food and coffee rolled out very slowly."

"I used to come here regularly and the staff were always nice and would get my order out pretty swiftly but recently I haven't had the best experiences. I try to be understanding but the other time I came it wasn't busy and the workers were just talking behind the counter and didn't pay attention to the people waiting in line. And today I came to get a drink and a peanut butter sandwich and it took 20 min and they started making orders for people that ordered after me :( I really used to love this cafe but I don't think I'll be coming by anymore"

"I had the pleasure of waiting 30 minutes for a pre-made sandwich to be heated while watching people who ordered after me get their sandwiches and drinks with no issue. When I asked about my order, I was kindly taught the valuable life lesson of learning how to wait. Highly recommended for those seeking a humbling lesson in patience."

"Cute, cozy cafe inside the art museum! Lots of quality food options, highly recommend!"

"A great café on the UW-Seattle Campus. One of only 2 as of 2023, that still take cash* (more on that in a moment). Food and Drink is great, Atmosphere is calming, but paraphrasing the manager "...As a small business, it's hard for us to (unload) dollar coins..." As someone who works in a small business (lives in one, as it's a family business), there are workarounds (i.e.: exchanging at the bank; give some as change, et cetera). These are tough times, but to preference forms of domestic currency- while no statute against it, can alienate potential customers, and that's bad for business overall. You could alienate someone, and it results in negative outcomes. Overall, a good place to eat, study, and clear your head. Food is good, drinks are good, place is clean and well-kept, the atmosphere is good, and the actual service is great too. It's just the business sense- that brings down the scores."
