"I’m a big fan of Deke River. I used to make Jeff’s coffee when I first lived in seattle and worked at Caffe Ladro in lower Queen Anne. (Layne used to come in as well.) But back to Deke River, what a spot. Hard to imagine a better river. Except maybe the Chehalis or the Duwamish…? I have to say those old days in the gray city on the sound were the best; I wouldn’t trade them for the world. While the Ames bros were doing their thing, I was working with Art Chantry just down the way. Thank you Deke River, thank you Jeff, fam & friends. Much love."
