What People Are Saying
from Google & Yelp"Having a place like Kitanda in the heart of Seattle really makes a difference. It helps a lot to kill the homesickness from Brasil, any day of the week. The store is very clean, well organized, and welcoming, and you can see the great work from the management, always paying attention to details and customer experience. The food is always fresh and high quality. The cheese bread (pão de queijo) is warm and delicious, the coxinha is crispy and well filled, and the acai is amazing, with real Brazilian flavor. It is a great place to visit any day of the week, for a quick coffee, a snack, or a calm break during the day. Good service, nice display, and a place that makes you want to come back. I really recommend for anyone living in Seattle or visiting the city who wants real Brazilian food, with quality, cleanliness, and good service."
"The best place in Seattle where I truly feel like I am in Brazil. The pão de queijo and the coffee are wonderful, the store is extremely clean, the cleanest Kitanda I have ever visited, and it is so cozy and welcoming. The manager is very kind and makes me feel at home. I am in love with this place and I recommend it to everyone with all my heart."
"This was one of the worst food and service experiences I’ve had at a place that claims to represent Brazilian cuisine. The coxinha, which is one of the most iconic Brazilian snacks, was terrible and sour, tasting as if it was spoiled. Completely unacceptable. The cheese bread (pão de queijo) had a rubbery, chewy texture, like something reheated in a microwave, with no freshness or real flavor. The ham and cheese pastry was also awful, with a clear taste of food that was old and reheated. On top of the terrible food quality, the service was just as bad. The person attending us showed no willingness to help, was visibly annoyed, and completely unwelcoming. There was no friendliness, no effort, and no basic customer service at all. For a Brazilian bakery, this experience was embarrassing. Poor food quality combined with terrible service makes this place impossible to recommend. I will not return and strongly advise others to avoid it."
"I wish I had found this place earlier… a must go when you enjoy good, fresh and less processed food - which was surprisingly hard for me in Seattle. I had a Kitanda bread and an Açaí bowl and both were delicious and freshly made. The Flate White was also pretty good!"
"Kitanda Espresso & Açaí is an amazing café and a true gem! The food is always fresh, delicious, and full of flavor. Their açaí bowls are authentic and perfectly balanced, and the espresso drinks are consistently excellent. You can really tell they care about quality and presentation. The customer service is outstanding. The staff is friendly, welcoming, and always willing to help with recommendations, which makes the experience even better. You feel genuinely appreciated as a customer every time you walk in. I also want to highlight the great management. The manager does an incredible job running the place — everything is well organized, clean, and efficient. It’s clear that the team is well-trained and motivated, which reflects strong leadership and attention to detail. Highly recommend Kitanda Espresso & Açaí for anyone looking for great coffee, delicious food, and excellent service in a warm and positive environment!"
"I stopped by Kitanda early in the morning right before the Christmas holidays. It was the only coffee shop in downtown open that early, yet the display case..."
