from Google & Yelp"First time here, we went on a Monday around 1030, didn't need a reservation. the portions are huge! I ordered the salmon Benedict, the seasonal peach blitz, hot chocolate, and my friend ordered the avocado toast. The salmon Benedict wasn't bad, a little salty but overall decent. the peach blintz...umm was pretty thick. It seemed like a pancake folded over. it was dry and you'd have to pile the whipped cream high and deep. the berry bar sounded amazing. It was a mix between fresh and canned fruit, assorted nuts, and whipped cream. it was ok. id probably go here again bc the menu looked like it had some amazing options. id be interested in trying more food from here."
"Portage Bat never disappoints. This was my first time coming to the West Seattle location. We came close to closing time but we’re still seated! This time around I ordered the French toast and my partner got the verde burrito. Both were absolutely delicious and full of flavor - I always appreciate the toppings bar and being able to choose exactly what I want. The sliced almonds are my go to! We also got a mimosa which was nice and an Arnold Palmer which I would absolutely NOT recommend."
"Portage Bay came up on a Google search for brunch places around the Fauntleroy Ferry. From the reviews I have read, it is necessary to make a reservation. But on a weekday, there were plenty of tables. My partner ordered Bananas Foster French Toast, which came with a visit to the berry bar. Although powdered sugar was skipped by request, the french toasts were drenched with kraken rum and caramel sauce. It looked so unhealthy I did not ask for a taste. I came for the crab cakes, but I quickly got distracted by the marketing descriptions of "local broccoli, carrots" and ordered the 3 eggs omelette with sautéed heavy greens. I had said many times in the past that I hate omelettes because I found the extremely boring. That day, I surprised even myself. As it turned out, I am still right. The contents inside the omelettes amounted to two table spoons of chopped up pieces of carrots, broccoli and bacon. The heavy greens was so heavy with vinegar that caught my throat at every bite. The house-made wheat and honey toast was dry and cold, and using the entire package of butter on it did not help moisten it because the butter did not melt. I should have stuck with crab cakes. For pancakes, the berry bar is a good idea. I must mark this place on my Google list as sugar heavy."
"Our food was 5/5! Our service was fine, until the end. While we were cashing out, our server with tattoos on her face made a ridiculous comment to one of the guests at our table saying “you look like you would steal” while cashing out on the toast. I don’t care what kind of day you’re having, don’t accuse a paying customer of looking some type of way. Crazy. I would absolutely walk away if she was our server again and not waste our money here."
"I remember being excited about getting Portage Bay in West Seattle after years of eating at SLU location. West Seattle location started well but my last 3 to 4 visits in a row have been good. Today's dish served cold was the end of the line for me. Mediocre food quality, how consistently here and today was just plain bad unfortunately. Service is always friendly, today I think they might have been short staffed."
"I had reservations for a Saturday lunch. For a Saturday, it wasn't too busy. Was able to plave our order within 10min of being seated. The food came out..."
