"Place has amazing design , feels free and comfortable , strongly recommended for quick coffee rest . Unfortunately coffee cappuccino that I ordered twice , had fully foam , pictures I shared you can see after I removed the foamed how much coffee left. (16oz cup , largest cup )Big cup for big coffee not for extra extra extra extra foam !!!!!!!!"

"Located inside the Madison Centre, near the Seattle Public Library. Nice coffee shop for those who want to start their day early or wait for the library to open. Ample seating, plugs, and strong WiFi service. I believe the pastries are from Macrina Bakery, but I did not try any. Coffee was good and service was great. There is also a code for the bathroom located down the hallway on the left if needed."

"If you’re in the mood to be condescended to and pay $8 for a cup of oat milk, this is your spot! I visited this coffee shop after reading all the glowing reviews, expecting a great experience. I ordered an iced vanilla latte with oat milk—and what I got was… oat milk. Just oat milk. I took one sip and waited until things calmed down before politely asking if it could be remade. Enter the male barista (manager? CEO of Lattes?), who proceeded to mansplain the entire concept of a latte to me. According to him, if I wanted more coffee flavor, I should order an extra shot next time. I explained that I couldn’t taste any coffee or vanilla—just a big ol’ glass of oat. He doubled down, explaining the standard two shots in a latte like he was teaching a masterclass. No offer to remake it. No “sorry about that.” Just latte-splaining. Maybe he thought I was pulling a fast one to score an extra pump of vanilla? Because yes, I definitely came in ready to risk my dignity for 75 cents’ worth of syrup… after already tipping and paying $8 for a drink I couldn’t taste. Eventually, I gave up and said, “Fine, just add more vanilla so I can taste something.” I didn’t have the energy to continue the Great Latte Debate of 2025. The hero of this story? The cashier in the blue shirt who swooped in, made a fresh drink without any drama, and saved the day. It was actually delicious—and they’re the reason this place gets 1 star instead of 0."

"Hidden inside an office building right at the cluster intersection of Madison and 5th is Retro Coffee. They have some unique options drink options to make things fun; I went with a Lavender Oat Chai. Zola Roasters coffee being served with fresh pastries to pair. Friendly service even as early as 7:00 am when they open. There’s a good amount of seating available in a high ceiling shop. PS: The baristas take music requests but within reason."

"Great coffee with a solid selection of delicious pastries. Options were thin for coffee on a Sunday, but Retro definitely keeps other top espresso cafe on their top game. I usually order a simple vanilla latte; and this was great! They actually infused the vanilla flavor in the foam. Perfect. Hit up Retro and start your day off proper."
