from Google"One of my favorite places to hang out with friends! My boyfriend and I play board games there quit often, and they have delicious food! I had my birthday party there last year, and I’m planning to have it there again this year! The staff made a delicious cheesecake, just for the occasion! The staff are so supportive and friendly, great to talk to, and helpful when you’re trying to learn a new game! 🤗"
"The service at this location was very nice, the workers were very friendly. The parking available outside is very tight and limited. The scone that I got was... just not good. I wouldn't be surprised if it was a few days old, but even freshness can't save a mediocre baked good. The chai tea I got was so very weak. Apparently their milk foamer was broken. The building is small and has limited table space with other tables very close to you, which can't be great if you're easily distracted. The last big complaint I had for this location is just that they charge $10 on a weekend and $7 on a weekday for access to their board gaming area. I dont think thats necessarily unreasonable, but since every other board game café I've been to doesn't charge for access it stands out. I've been to a lot of board game stores and cafes that I would much rather go to than this location... The only reason I would suggest someone patronize this establishment would be if they didn't have access to a better one."
"I sent an email to ask some questions about their date night Fridays and I got responses pretty quickly! On Fridays, they offer a deal where you can pay $10 for two people that comes with free drinks as well as a BOGO deal on drinks and food as long as you play 2-player games. We got the ham and swiss panini, chicken bacon ranch panini, Italian soda, and Sugar Fog. I love that they let you choose up to 4 flavors for your Italian sodas so allows for fun combinations. The paninis were great for their price and flavorful! The drinks were wonderful too, we were big fans of the Sugar Fog. The decor in the cafe is very chill and cozy. I love that on each table on the side we were at had a sticker on the edge of the table, added a cute touch. The games are organized very well and they even have a dedicated drawer for two player games. It's clear where to put your plates. They do have a bathroom with a code but there is a sign that says what the passcode is so you don't have to awkwardly ask for it. There is plenty of seating inside as well as big table spaces to play board games. The service here is friendly and professional. Additionally, they are great at making your drinks quickly even when they get busy. They also do hold your card but there are plenty of ways to remind you to get your card back, which I appreciate as I am a very forgetful person. They also offer a stamp card and I love how cute it is. We look forward to coming back!"
"My favorite place in Tacoma. The colors and decor create such a relaxing and inviting atmosphere. The service is truly incredible. I think it’s really cool that the owners are sisters and they work full-time in the cafe. They foster a warm and welcoming environment, always willing to offer a chat or a little life advice. A few things I love that make The 15% unique: 1. I love the Fog tea menu, Sleepy fog (10/10), Misty Mountain Fog (10/10), Mad Paris Fog (10/10). I also love that they steep the tea for you so it’s perfect every time. I don’t love when cafes leave the tea bag in and you have to figure out when to remove it, occasionally resulting in bitter tea… 2. THE GAMES!!! There is such a vast, and quality selection! The staff are always offering to stop and explain the games, which is nice because some of them are complicated as all hell. 3. They make all of the delicious baked items and sandwiches fresh in house! So for those of us that can’t have diary, or prefer a vegan option, they have options for us!! Ohhhh the inclusion!!! Which leads me to… 4. I LOVE the diversity of people that The 15% Board Games attracts. 5. The only sell locally designed games, to help support other local businesses and creatives. I love the community feels. All in all, if you’re even lightly curious it’s worth the visit, I’m confident you’ll love it. Trust me, I’m a doctor 😉"
"I absolutely love this place. I came here for bonding with coworkers, and had an awesome time. You get a complimentary 12 oz drink to play board games for as long as you'd like. There's plenty of seating an abundance of board games that are very well organized. They have a lot of classics and a lot of fun interesting ones I've never played before. Their drinks are absolutely delicious, I didn't get any food when I went but I would believe it's great. The service there was impeccable. Everyone was so kind, helpful, and professional. You don't have to pay until the very end before you leave, which makes it easier to go get an additional item if you want, and allows time for you and a group to split the payment through CashApp/Venmo/Zelle/etc. Everything here is thought out. It also has an awesome atmosphere, it's very very cozy, and a fun place to come to with friends, and even by yourself. There was a guy who came up and asked to play with our group, and we said yes, and had a great time!"
