"One of the easiest and cheapest ways to elevate your home espresso (or any brewing method) is to get better coffee. While it's fairly easy to find and ship good coffee, getting it locally can be trickier. I'm happy to report: I've found it. 9 Bar Espresso makes some amazing roasts that stand above many other local-to-Vancouver offerings. For my first order I picked up a bag of the Ethiopia Guji Natural and their decaf. Many roasters hugely under roast natural processed coffees leaving them overly acidic, or go full city and lose the fruit altogether. This was perfectly balanced. Heavy on the complex fruit without the one-note acidity. The decaf is also above par, without some of the odd nuttier notes you find in some decaf coffees. Corey—the owner and roaster—was friendly and very knowledgeable, with a clear passion for excellent coffee. I can't wait to try more!"
