"Wow, what a totally unexpected pleasure. I have passed this building numerous times and always wanted to check it out. This morning I finally had the chance. Came early with a friend to enjoy a hot beverage and a pastry. The building is large, with tall windows across the front and a couple of short stairways leading to the main entrance. There is also a rear entrance that does not require climbing steps. Once inside, the space opens up beautifully. The roastery is to the right, the order counter straight ahead, and seating is spread throughout. There is a second floor that is also very spacious and well set up for seating. In addition, there are several rooms that appear to be used for private gatherings. An elevator provides access to the second floor. Restrooms are located on the first floor only, which was my only small disappointment. When we arrived, there were only a few other people there, and we were able to order right away. I ordered a London Fog Tea Latte with a little lavender and vanilla, served in a mug, along with a vanilla scone with icing, which they offered to heat up. My friend ordered drip coffee and a spinach and feta Danish, also warmed. We grabbed a spot upstairs, where there were plenty of open tables and chairs to choose from. Seating options included a circular couch, sofas, leather chairs, and wooden chairs. There was something for every type of group. The lighting was good, and the design and décor were interesting and well done. The space had a great vibe overall. It was quiet at first, but became livelier as more people arrived and the place eventually filled up. The London Fog was excellent, with the right flavor and texture. It could have been just a bit hotter, which I will be sure to ask for next time. The foam was perfectly done all the way to the bottom of the china mug. The scone was also very good, with a true scone texture that was dry and crumbly. An excellent first visit. Aside from the lack of a second floor restroom, the space was truly impressive. This one is definitely going on my "A" list."

"Blown away by this place. It’s not everyday that I come across a coffee shop that I can recommend to the highest degree. This place is spacious, clean, and filled with plants which give it an inviting atmosphere to socialize or study. The drinks and service are spectacular. They roast their own beans and make most syrups—just outstanding quality. They also have a ramp to access the building as well as an elevator to the upstairs to give access to the pace to everyone. Definitely check this place out!"

"Cutest coffeeshop that I’ve been hearing raving reviews about. Two months after they opened, I finally got to try them out. From the outside, it looks like an old office building with a tiny parking lot, but then step inside for a completely revamped interior, quite in fashion with the vibes of today’s open concept coffee houses. One thing that sets Idyll apart is all the greenery inside. Not so much downstairs, but upstairs was a beautiful open, yet cozy area filled with pretty greens. We were greeted inside by a man holding a chemex bottle and little cups, handing out samples of their “pineapple candy” pour over. I was interested in trying, but not too excited, since I wasn’t sure if this would mean a candy like sweet coffee, but not at all. The coffee was just a bit acid and quite a bit amazing. The guy serving the samples turned about to be Dan, one of the 4 or 5 owners of the shop. He was apparently also an Olympic speed skater! You could hear the passion for coffee as he talked. Something else I learned was that one of the owners used to work for Colectivo for decades. Browsing through the shop later, and drinking their coffee, I could sense some of the Colectivo touches. Their coffee beans are all labeled with the level of roast, body and acidify (like colectivo) and some of the merch looked familiar (I’m a Colectivo buff…). Coffee. After the Pineapple candy, I tried their Shortest Days, which was delicious. Just the right amount of acidity for me - and about as much as I like. I personally prefer to more full bodied, less acidic, good with cream type, though will sometimes be in the mood for some acidity. I brought home a bag of their espresso and Papua New Guinea. The Papua New Guinea was for hubby who enjoys acidic pour overs. He likes it, but wishes it had a little more body. The expresso was good also, but I wish it was a little less acidic. For my home coffees, I feel like I’ve chosen wrong ones. In any case, a wonderful experience made better by getting to chat with the owner and good coffee."

"I was so excited to try out a new coffee shop in Tosa! I went on a Saturday mid morning and it was so crowded! Despite this, the service was fast with almost no line waiting to order or receive my coffee. They have a selection of seasonal drinks as well as drip coffee and other non coffee drinks such as smoothies and tea. I ordered the gingerbread latte which was so good. I love when a coffee shop uses mugs instead of to go cups when dining in. They have a good selection of bakery items as well as breakfast and lunch items that I will have to come back to try. Overall this is such a cute coffee shop! I love the atmosphere with all the greenery and comfy places to sit including a fireplace. Great place to study and catch up with friends :)"

"Great place! Know one of the owners. Love the spaciousness and atmosphere. Coffee was also great! Barista did not read the instructions on the cup and gave me 2% milk instead of whole milk. Not impressed with his lack of attention to details, but he was rushed and in the routine so I forgave him and said nothing. The coffee was still good but I missed the whole part;) Looking forward to returning!"
