What People Are Saying
from Google"We came in on the day Alaskan Crab Letters were on special and regretted not ordering them when we saw them come to the table. We ordered the catfish poy boy sandwich and the fish n chips, both delicious. The restaurant ambiance makes you feel like your at the ocean. Our waitress was amazing, she had a very large table plus other tables and was always polite and checking on us. We will be back."
"Jewel City Seafood is a strong regional seafood stop that delivers a satisfying, well executed experience, especially for those craving a proper boil-style meal. I ordered the Steamer Pot with the Old Bay seasoning, and it was the clear highlight of the visit. The seafood was fresh, properly cooked, and generously portioned, with the Old Bay bringing a familiar, well balanced seasoning profile that complemented rather than overwhelmed the ingredients. Nothing was overcooked, which is critical for a dish like this, and the components worked together cohesively. The menu overall leans into crowd-pleasing seafood classics rather than experimental or chef-driven dishes, and it succeeds on that front. This is comfort seafood done right, focused on flavor, quantity, and approachability rather than flash. Service was solid and efficient, keeping things moving without feeling rushed. The atmosphere is casual and functional, appropriate for the style of food and the portions being served. It feels like a place built around eating well rather than lingering theatrics. Jewel City Seafood is absolutely worth a stop if you are in the Huntington region. While it is not a destination that warrants a dedicated trip on its own, it excels locally and regionally as a reliable place to get a hearty, well prepared seafood meal."
"Before we even ordered, we were ready to leave. Music LOUD & TERRIBLE. Couldn't even talk, it was so loud. Ordered the pick 2 with scallops & fried oysters, & the whitefish special. Hubby liked the scallops. I liked the oysters. But there were only 4 scallops & 6 little oysters! For $36.95! The whitefish was more breading than fish. Fries ok. Other sides so so. The sides were super small portions & served in plastic cups. For the price here, nothing should be in plastic. Cost was $60 before tip! Not worth it! Even if the food was worth it, which it wasn't, I wouldn't go back because of the music alone."
"Small inside but big food flavors. Today's special, 1 lb of fried whitefish and 2 sides for $15. Wow that's a lot of fish! Lol lightly breaded and flaky was definitely worth stopping by. I also had the calamari without marinara, anyone who lived in Italy wouldn't dare use anything but fresh squeezed lemon juice lol. It was really good and I loved that the tentacles were actually included!! Yum 😋😋😋. Okra is a treat, so that and the side salad were my 2 picks and neither dishes disappoint. Service was good and beer was cold. Will definitely be back!"
"Ok. First off, this is my very first time coming here. My mom mentioned it to me yesterday that she used to get the best fish sandwiches here when she first moved here. This evening we decided to go as I have never been. We got there about 1700, and there was no wait to be seated. The staff were very friendly and courteous. Our server came out to greet us and gave us a complimentary order of their famous hushpuppies (very good, btw). The menu is loaded with a sorts of seafood favorites and even a few surprises. The prices were fair and the portions... let's just say HUGE! I ordered the cod dinner with fries and coleslaw. Dad ordered the fish and chips, and mom had the fried cod sandwich. The food was all fresh and hot. The coleslaw was crisp and flavorful. The fries were hot and crisp. Everything we ordered was delicious, and we will definitely put this restaurant in our monthly rotation. Our server was super friendly and knowledgeable. He had a great attitude. His name was Zack. Overall, I do highly recommend this local restaurant and believe you will neither leave disappointed or hungry. Ask for Zack!"
