What People Are Saying
from Google"I absolutely loved everything about this place. We did the whole package which included the museum, boat ride, horse carriage ride and tour. It was such a beautiful and great experience. I highly recommend for everyone!"
"First time visiting Blennerhassett Island, loved the Island. The only think I would've changed don't going in summer time, very hot and humid. If you want to go inside the big house buy tickets. The other smaller house is empty inside. We did rent bikes that was nice. On the ferry ride over some people bought they own bikes. Gift shop was the only place to get relief from the heat. Parkersburg area seems empty even though homecoming was happening. I would love to visit again but only in fall time."
"Not often is there an opportunity to visit a historical island, accessible only by ferry. It's a very interesting piece of frontier history, when the wild west was anywhere beyond Virginia. The mansion is interesting, even if if is a facsimile of the original. More important, in my opinion, would be the museum. Full of artifacts through the ages, it give a wonderful link to a world gone by."
"Our guide was well informed and a gentleman. He played the dulcimer for us which has a very pleasing sound. The property is well maintained and beautiful to view. It does have a snack stand down by the waters edge. The horse and buggy ride was a nice addition to our tour. The paddlewheeler ride to the island was pleasant as well. Highly recommend this tour. Plan on a minimum of 3 hours with the boat ride included."
"What a neat place to spend an afternoon. We enjoyed the horse carriage ride and the history lesson of the island and its structures. We then took the house tour which told about the family that lived there. The stern wheel boat ride to the island was very nice and relaxing!!"
