from Google"My experience at Sokolata was undeniably wonky. I’ve always enjoyed their tasty food via drive-thru pickup, but decided to check out the inside experience on a late August day in 2025. Upon walking in, I was confused—do I order online to dine in? Do I seat myself? The process wasn’t clear, and there were no signs or staff at the entrance to help. The staff noticed my confusion and asked if I was eating in or taking out; at this point, I was trying to take out. She kindly handed me a menu and directed me to what felt like the “expo” window, a space between the dining area and the kitchen with restaurant equipment nearby. Interestingly, the drive-through person met me at the expo window to take my order and handed me the credit card reader, which had a default tip option. I didn’t provide a tip, as I was still in the middle of my confused feeling about the process. She kindly brought my food out to me, thanked me, and I was on my way. My London broil sandwich had less meat than expected (but still enough) and was warm, but not hot—more like premade than fresh. The homemade chips were fresh-ish, starting to soften but still with a little crispness. The food and service were good, but overall, the dine-in flow is confusing and could use clearer instructions for new guests. The experience was wonky in a way that stands out."
"Good food, lots of choices, cute atmosphere, great staff. I had the Avocado Salad - see photo. My friend had the Shrimp Fettuccine. We shared a pita and hummus starter,, and took a (huge) piece of baklava to go. Add two iced teas and it still wasn't even $50 - in these times that was a pretty good deal and the food was great."
"Gyro was amazing, Ham Calzone was amazing, The mousse was seriously the best desert ive ever had especially for the pricing. The baklava was extremely tasty, very large piece. Different than what ive had before but thats not a bad thing! Place is worth checking out! Drive tru was pretty quick for a non fast food place"
"This locally owned restaurant serves excellent Mediterranean food in a casual relaxed dining room. They make their own (delightful) gelato, the salads are large and extremely fresh, and the pasta is never overcooked. I have had both the Cajun chicken pasta and the spaghetti with meatballs. Sokalata easily has the best red sauce in the Kanawha Valley! I am looking forward to trying the pizza and calzones next. Also: There is plenty of parking, a drive-thru pickup window and the ladies room is always clean and fully stocked."
"Service was exceptional! They even made my kiddo a sub that wasn’t on the menu! We had the multi cheese pizza and it was delicious! I’m very picky about Alfredo sauce, but their sauce was very good! Thanks for a great lunch! Also loved the homemade chips!"
